oh, everyone gets a crystal duel disk. the crystal is connected to the duel disk and is the part that calculates LP just as a regular duel disk would.

I'm Ren, and I'm the one who's going to find the host and burn him to pieces! Seriously, he brings us all here and tells us stupid stories about how we're going to die if we lose a duel? Get real.. On the other hand, a tournament is a tournament so It's not too much of a waste.

 

due to the fact that you'd die if you lost, you cannot enter in as yourself. only your characters can, as they are.. well, expendable.

Dueling is just a game. This is a gaming event. Sure it's a very competitive game for prizes, but do you really think someone would resort to murder? And for what? To get rid of the competition? They're hosting for goodness sake. If the strongest competitors start dieing, that's bad for business in the long run. They're just trying to make us uneasy so we make mistakes, and it's more exciting for the spectators. It'll take more than empty threats to get me off balance.

 

Yes, but you never know what psychopaths are out there. They might just want that to happen.
