Hey Rafael, I just wanna take a minute to say I think you're a really great guy and I'm sincerely sorry for all of the times when I hurt your feelings or upset you. I want you to know that I didn't mean to and I appreciate all your kindness towards me and I thank you for helping me with my deck.

So you would play a game without the intention of winning..
to me that would just be boring to both you and the opponent.
and I don't even understand how it's fun if you're playing a deck that would have been better with three REDMD but you choose to only have one, against an opponent that has three. while your opponent spams out his stuff you're still only summoning once or twice every turn and barely living for another.

I'll try to explain my point..
mostly everyone uses what is available to them.
if saying that REDMD is too powerful and shouldn't be ran at the amount of which it is best used in a deck, then wouldn't using a computer for a research report be "cheap" or "too easy" because you can just google anything you want in a few clicks?
"No! using a computer is just too cheap, you get information way too easily, I'd rather go to the library."
what's wrong with using everything that is available to you to do your best on something like building a deck?
that's also like saying researching wikia for ideas on building your deck is too easy, even though it may make your deck "better".

Terra is right though, this is probably never going to end so I'm just going to stop here.
Last thing i'm going to comment on. that picture amuses me.

And that's how ridiculous this game's gotten now, that such powerful decks are somehow not competitive, because of what's being used so commonly now.

To Brooklyn: beforehand, I hope I don't sound too antagonizing. I simply want us to understood each other, k bro?

I think its safe to assume that I obviously want to win a competitive game. But I don't like the idea of having to use the popular and proven tactics just to stand a chance with the modern game. And your example shows exactly what I'm talking about. Sure, I could stoop to my opponent's level and use a bunch of powerful cards that aren't (yet should be) hit with some limitation, but that takes away from my own creativity in making an original deck and integrity as my own type of duelist.

I stand by my point that a card game =/= a research report, and I'll explain it.
Using everything that is available to you is a moot point when what is available to you is excessive in power with the current banlist, and strips away from using one's own brains to devise original strategies. I play this game to have fun, not to get a good grade. I'm going to do what I believe is fair to be entertained, not what Konami deems fair.

I'll also admit to using the Yugioh wiki to see a few strategies for a few cards, but I don't ever make full decks based on said strategies. I use their strategies, combined with ones I come up with on my own. Do I know if my own strategies are completely original? No, because I don't look up every strategy for every card I use. Sometimes I just come up with them during the game.

Yeah, probably. Its hard to see each other's points when they're both so determinate on our own perspectives of the game.
    no hate bro :>

sorry guys for the wall of text.

    Draw phase---
    *hand six*
    standby phase---
    main phase one---
First up, I'll activate Foolish Burial to send Wind-up Hunter from my deck to the grave.
    [IMG][IMG]

Next, I'll normal summon Tourguide, and special another from my deck.
    [IMG][IMG]

Now, I'll overlay my two monsters, come forth, Wind-up Carrier Zenmaighty!

but I'm not done yet, you see by detaching Tourguide from Zenmaighty, I can summon a Wind-up Rat from my deck.
    [IMG][IMG]

and that means I can use Rat to bring back Hunter!
    [IMG][IMG]

Now, I can use Hunter's effect to sacrifice my carrier, and force you to send a random card from your hand to the grave.
Now, I'll overlay my two monsters, come forth, Wind-up Carrier Zenmaighty!

but I'm not done yet, you see by detaching Hunter from Zenmaighty, I can summon another rat from my deck.

and now I'm out of carriers, so I'll activate Pot of Avarice, shuffling the five monsters in my grave back into the deck, and drawing twice.

...I do try hard. That's the thing: I try, where as most of the people I see on Dueling Network simply repeat the same proven tactics over and over. I try to come up with my own things. Sometimes they work great, and sometimes they fail, but no matter what, I have fun seeing that my own brainpower and preferences of play-styles succeed. Know what I mean? Thats why I stick to dueling people I know. They have pretty unique decks and don't rely on the meta-decks.

Fair enough. I suppose we simply set different goals to try for. Thank you for explaining that.

Ah yes I see now. Thank you very much. I guess banning Wind-Up Hunter should solve this problem. (In the Arena I mean)

Anyone want to play on Dueling Network? Trying a deck out. Probably will lose...

No problem, and I suppose. I love the game honestly, but I kinda stay away from dueling strangers because I hate going through the same stuff over and over again, and my non-meta-deck gets torn apart.

    Funny video :>

    Name's HayabusaZeroZ

And my real deck is pretty good...as long as I never duel meta-decks. My friends and I are pretty equal in wins/loses, and that's nothing to sneeze at.

It really is. I don't think I'll ever be able to compete in a tournament. Too many meta-decks. You've seen that my deck is competent, but I'm really working with a limited budget and trading with friends. Don't have the cash to get every card I need.
