Didn't you JUST use Polymerization? You should be sending the materials to the Graveyard first and Fusion Summoning that monster. You can't just turn around and decide to activate Pot Of Greed during the Fusion. That's just...

Jar Of Greed is a Trap. Traps can't be activated the turn they're set.

Also, I figured that if you looked at the card. I thought that it being a Fusion Summon would've been obvious. No offense.

EDIT: Okay, You used Polymerization earlier. When you do that you're supposed to immediately send the required Fusion Material Monsters from your hand to the graveyard. You can do anything else in between.
