"Cylians?" Eleanor replied, though the upward inflection at the end of the sentence made it sound like a question. "But why would they have Cylians here?"

She wanted to look at Tristan as she spoke, but didn't take her eyes off the hallway in front of her, waiting for Lanan to finally catch up.

 

"Your guess is as good as mine." Tristan answered. "But what I'm more concerned about is how they've managed to keep them under control with their powers and all."

"Not just Cylians," said the boy. "Fairrels too. They are only known to the upper class, and so only the upper class buys to them. They're treated worse than us. They beat them until they've lost their fighting spirit."

"But that still doesn't explain how they prevented the Cylains from using their powers."

The boy merely shrugged. he didn't have an answer to that one.

 

Eleanor frowned and finally looked over to Tristan and the children.

"Ask them," she suggested, jerking her head toward the soldiers and their cage.

 

Tristan merely shrugged. "Do any of you know why the Cylians don't strike back?" the children just stared at him blankly. Releasing a sigh, Tristan got off his knees. "I think that's all the information we're going to get."

 

"Fine, then," Eleanor muttered, getting a little frustrated. "Let's just get these kids wherever they need to be and move on with this."

 

"They should stay here until things are sorted out." said Tristan.

 

"Right," Eleanor agreed, not really looking at the children; for some reason the little ones made her uncomfortable. "Where to now, then?" Should we wait for Lanan? I really find it hard to believe those little soldiers took him out."

 

Tristan nodded. he didn't think it would be wise to advance without Lanan around

 

"W-wait!" Ben called out, running after Nas.

Aduial, knowing he wouldn't follow otherwise, grabbed Aidou's hand and followed Ben. "This may be our chance to find out what's really going on."

"I know that," Aidou replied nonchalantly. He looked down at Aduial's hand holding his. He knew he should let go. But he didn't.

 

"Hey!" Eleanor shouted as she turned toward the hallway leading out of the building, hoping, if Lanan was nearby, he would hear her. "If you're waiting for us, we're ready to go! Stop holding us back!"

 

"Oof!" Lanan said as he ran straight into Eleanor. Recognizing her scent as he fell backwards, he became agitated. "Stop your whining," he groaned as he stood up, "I'm here."



"Hey!" Ruby growled at Naserrea, "That's a Summon," she said as she bluntly pointing at the tiny boy. She could feel her true form aching to get out and fight, but she held it back.

Disappointed and slightly furious, Zuiden eyed Karchit. He held his emotion under a flawless mask of apathy. "Fine, we'll follow. We're familiar with the sands," he said. "Are you ready to go, Whisk?" He asked his companion.

"Of course, sir," Whisk said in a dreamy voice, his eyes still had the dazed and zoned out expression, as if he were daydreaming, but he was as alert as ever. His long tail wrapped around his staff, freeing his hands. "It'll be weird heading back there without the Guild, won't it?" He asked in a joking tone, still looking dazed. He was answered by a silent nod as Zuiden stood up and grabbed his weapon.

Perfect, thought Ras'tepa. The thought was a mock towards Bryne. His fists clenched and shook as his body trembled. "Who could do it, you ask? Isn't it obvious," he made his voice slightly tremble, pouring fake anger and sorrow.
Dare you not slander his name, Demon! Bryne silently yelled as he heard Ras'tepa's plan.
Ras'tepa continued, slamming his fist into the wall, "The one who betrayed me? The same person who murdered my firstborn! The same man who kidnapped my only daughter! The one man selfish enough to try and take the throne! My so called son, Tristan Alzeire!"

"Change!" Azazel ordered Alira. The moment he said it, his red hair, shorted, stiffened and gained a silverish tint. His eyes narrowed as the yellow glow grew so hot, it illuminated his entire face. His skin turned a dark gray. His "pants" became a darkish blue that could be black as a shins and feet turned a silverish color and thickened, resembling boots. The sides of his body turned a dark red as his hips seemed to grow downwards, making him appear as if he was wearing a red coat. The designs were finished with intricate designs that were blue, silver, orange, and black. The final addition were two medium sized silver wings coming from his shoulder blades. "The Angelen," he growled in a deep voice, "it disappeared." He didn't trust that new development. The Angelen's energy was headed towards them and it suddenly disappeared. "Stay close!" He ordered as he flew towards where the Angelen disappeared.

 

Eleanor grunted stepped back a pace. She sheathed her daggers and rubbed the spot on her chest where Lanan ran into her.

"Took you long enough," she grumbled. "Where to next, then, boys?"

 

Tristan answered by looking up at the trapdoors. "We need to get through one of those. The problem is we don't know what's waiting for us. We'll be completely defenseless while climbing the ladders. That's where you come in, Lanan. You can use your ability to fly up there instead of climbing the ladders. That way you won't be defenseless. There could be a guard waiting at each one of those trapdoors. But if you can secure one of the openings then we will be able to get up there without worry."

Zudien's disappointment brought a smile to the lizard's face. "I'm merely a commander of this army. There are those above me. who give me orders. I can't go off on some adventure without permission."

Nas merely shrugged "Who knows." She said absently while placing a finger on her smiling lips. "Why didn't you wait for me?"

 

"Sounds good," Eleanor sighed; her fingers were itching to clean the blood off her blades, but knew now wasn't the time. "Well, pretty boy," she continued, looking sideways at Lanan. "Let's get moving."

 

Sitting comfortably in a branch of a tree and safely hidden by it's leaves, Zack observed what he suspected to be the two demons, from a great distance. Being a dragon based Angelen had it's share of benefits. And right now, Zack took advantage of one of them. His superior eyesight was unmatched to any except the few remaining Dragon Angelens. the only other creature that matched it were the few Dragon based demons that he encountered.
Zack took comfort in his hiding spot located a mile east of where the demons stood. Of course he couldn't attack from such a great distance but attacking would be unnecessary perhaps for days to come. All he had to do was observe. Observe and wait for the right moment.
He would have to keep track of the time as well. His spell of masking didn't last forever, but he should be fine so long as he recast the spell every few hours. For now, he just need to watch and commit every detail he learned to memory.

 

"Uh, fly?" Lanan asked, reluctantly. He looked up at the nearest trapdoor and walked, stepping over a body, so he was directly under it. The rope was right in front of him, he could climb it, but Tristan was right. They weren't sure what was up there. "I guess I could do that..." He muttered, showing a rare break in his confidence. I just hope I don't miss the door, he thought as he readied himself. He took a single regular bolt and placed in on his gauntlet. He then took the smaller dagger and held it reverse-grip style in his right hand. With both his fists closed, he shut his eyes and placed his fists in front of him. He concentrated, remembering the hallways he came from. Taking a deep breath, he managed to reach the outside of the building with his molding abilities, bring the wind in. As the wind found him, rushing past Eleanor and Tristan, he opened his eyes and jumped. The wind became compressed as it went around his legs, pushing him upward. "Whoa!" He yelled as he struggled to stay in a straight vertical line. Successfully making it through the trapdoor, he landed on his feet and readied himself for combat, testing his senses in the dark.



The rat was obviously dodging the elephant in the room so Ruby looked back and told her what she saw. "He's following us." She didn't even notice his companions.

Those above you are the ones I want to meet, Zuiden thought, but he only said, "Whatever you say, then."

 

Ignoring the comment, Nas merely smiled. If they desired to follow than so be it. "Time to go. I will perform the mission whether or not you decide to follow." And with that, Nas took off.

 

I wonder what's going on. How come Nassy is with that mean Summon? Ben thought, still trying to catch up. He could have gone faster, but he didn't want to leave Aduial or Aidou behind.

 

Tristan was full of anxiety Why didn't he say anything yet? Tristan wondered. "Is the coast clear?" He asked.

 

Eleanor stood next to Tristan, looking after Lanan. She swallowed, gathering back her mental strength as they waited.
