The world of Laifel

Another Talon shot from the waters taken another man with it. Seconds later The upper body of the creature rose above the water. I looked like a normal dragon except that it had four fins that looked similar to wings. The sea dragon snarled before releasing a deafening roar.

 

Aduial knotched an arrow, not surprised to see it burst to flame thanks to Aidou. She loosed the bolt directly for the Dragon's eye.

"Get below deck," Aidou ordered the captain. It would be enough of a pain to fight the beast without having to protect the captain. He couldn't risk the spillage of human blood either. Aidou's mind was already working on a strategy to bring down the monster. He could light Aduial's arrows easily, but that wasn't enough to kill the Dragon. He could boil the sea water, but the mass of water was too large for him to effect with magic without hurting himself in return. The water that was on the Dragon, however, was a different matter.

 

The arrow struck the dragon's eye. The dragon released another roar, but this time it was one of pain. Another talon shot out of the waters from the other side. Hester groaned. There were at least two of them. Hester turned his attention to the vampire and spat on the deck. "I be no coward. I've face many dragons in me day. "Fire the harpoons. Aim for the neck!"

OOC: Okay, I done for the night.

 

"Idiot," Aidou growled, lighting another arrow aflame for Aduial before she let it loose for the first Dragon's neck. The captain obviously didn't understand what would happen if human blood was split around a vampire. With a wave of his hands, he froze the water that rested on the scales of the first dragon. That gave Aduial good targets to shatter.

OOC: I'm off too! I probably won't be on tomorrow.

 

"No," Eleanor corrected. "I told you I gave her the gold I've earned in exchange, and... then I came back to find you." She didn't want to tell Tristan of anything of the makeshift fortune the old woman had told; she kept it to herself.

 

"But It's strange.... In the middle of the night too. What kind of store is opened in the middle of the night?" Tristan shrugged his shoulders. "Perhaps she would give us a place to stay if we paid her."

 

"Maybe," Eleanor thought. "It's funny as well... she didn't seem open at all, but... waiting for me." She stopped and shook her head, touching the hilts of her daggers. "It's mere coincidence that she was looking out the window when I passed by looking for help... I think."

 

Tristan cocked an eyebrow and began rubbing his chin. She was definitely hiding something, not to mention she avoided the question. "Hmmmm......" Tristan shrugged. "Well, then I guess the sewers will have to do."

 

"How romantic," Eleanor snorted, stooping to pick up the pack full of food and medicine. "You'd best lead the way, then, friend."

 

Gemini's eyes flashed around as she followed the trail she'd found. It led out of town to the east and Nentrion (yay for a map!). "Lanan, can you tell what it is we're following yet?" she asked as she ran, hoping he would say yes so that they could both track and be less likely to make a mistake.

 

"Will do. Nas, Ruby, come along now." Tristan led the way out of the alley and chuckled, "I guess this is what you call a cheap date."

 

Eleanor laughed under her breath, now able to put some weight on her injured ankle and walk slightly on it. "The same location you take most women, I'm sure," she retorted.

 

Tristan smile while he kept a look out for any nearby manholes. "Oh sure, we had lots of sewers in the good old palace."

Nas gave Ruby a questioning look. Was her master insane?

 

Eleanor smirked, raising her eyes slightly. "I don't doubt it... though I don't think you've been in a situation like this before."

 

Tristan thought for a moment. "No, I guess not. Well there's a first time for everything." he said while lifting a nearby manhole that he found. "You gotta do what you gotta do."
Tristan gagged at the smell that the sewers released. "In normal circumstances I would say, 'Ladies first.' but seeing that this is a nasty sewer we are talking about...." Tristan shrugged and climbed down into the sewers. This was not going to be fun.

 

Eleanor groaned and followed, trying to only breathe through her mouth. "Sleeping won't be a problem," she coughed. "Passing out from the smell seems easy enough, no?"

 

Ruby had a flashback to the War. A town was being attacked by Demons, the people seeked shelter in the sewers only to find her and her previous Master. The sewer water became more filthy with blood then with waste. She would definitely be more at home there than Naserrea. Finally, tuning into the conversation around her, she realized what Tristan was saying. Looking at Naserrea, ignoring that look, she asked, "Is your master insane?" as she crawled in after them.

"What do you mean? The scent?" He asked, referring to the Princess' scent, he had picked up a human scent and since it went along the same way Gemini was leading him, he guessed it was Sameire's. "Yeah, I can. I wonder where she went..."

 

"I don't know. But it's her so let's see where it leads. I hope she hasn't gotten into trouble. The lady, Eleanor, didn't seem very confident in Sameire's ability out here." Gemini commented thoughtfully, taking a turn to follow the trail of the scent as she spoke

 

Tristan stepped into the waters and frowned. "Well at least you'll get some sleep out of that." This place really did smell horrible.

 

"Not a chance, Princess," The man replied in his rough voice.

"If you're that desperate for money, I will pay you whatever price you name when I sort out this mess," Sameire assured the man. "You have my word."

"That's quite a pretty offer, Miss, but we all need the money now; and we've no idea when you'll 'sort out this mess.'" The man shook his head.
