He blushed a tiny bit from the hug. "I can buy you a horse." he said, his face going back to normal.

 

Ireth wasn't affected by this. She heard things like that many times. "Still we're both very powerful enemies." She pulled her arm away from Grey. The next words she said were bitter to her. "Thanks... But now, as I tried before, we need to head our seperate ways... Now." She brought her staff to her, stepping away from Grey. "Outside of the city, we're enemies..."

 

Eva smiled. "You need one too!"

 

"I prefer flying." he said.

 

Eva shook her head, smiling. "right...."

 

He smiled back at her.

 

Eva took a deep breath and started running, smiling as she did.

 

He flew beside her.

 

Eva smiled. "So what's your story?"

 

"I'm an old mage, what's there to tell?" he asked, afraid of telling her the truth.

 

Eva glanced at him. "Everyone has a past. What matters is what you do about it."

 

"Some are better left forgotten." he said, looking away.

 

Eva smiled slightly, running a little faster. "Take this from someone who knows, the past can't be forgotten."

He sighed and flew beside her.

 

Eva smiled, then dodged a tree. "Where is the nearest horse to steal?"

 

"Why steal? I have pleanty of money." he said.

 

Eva shrugged. "I don't want you to spend more money on me."

 

"Don't worry about it. Living as a mage for as long as I have can make you pretty rich." he said.

 

Eva smiled curiously, stopping for a second. "How long has that been?" she asked.
