"Are you doing this to get back at demons or just because you hate everything?" She got closer.

 

Zeliek slowly woke up the next morning.

 

Maya remained asleep.

 

Zeliek smiled and gently stroked her hair.

 

Maya smiled and slept.

 

Zeliek slowly got up, trying not to wake her.

 

Maya stayed asleep.

 

Zeliek got dressed and quietly left the room. He sensed something strange within Maya and wondered whether his mind was playing tricks on him as he went to the kitchen.

 

Maya felt something and woke up.

 

Zeliek walked back in the room with breakfast.

"Morning, sleepyhead."

 

"Morning........"

 

"Something on your mind?" Zeliek asked as he handed her a plate.

 

"I felt something that woke me up."

 

"I sensed a strange aura within you, like you have a new life forming within you."

 

"I am pregnant, wonderful...."

 

"That's strange, as demons can't normally get pregnant. I guess you're an exception to the rule."

 

"Maybe because I was once human."

 

"It's not that. Once you became a demon, you lost all ties to your former humanity. It's possible for a demon to become pregnant, but it's very rare, and it can only happen once."

 

Maya rubbed her stomach and ate.

 

Zeliek sat next to her and started eating.

"Now that you're pregnant, you'll probably end up craving souls."
