The Orphanage

"What's...this...?" Kaylee stepped back a bit and took the drawing delicately in her hands, unfolding it and blinking once as the features were revealed to her. Her lips formed a small smile and she tilted her head.

Moving to the door again, Kaylee stood on her tip toes and gazed into the window. "Did you...draw this...?" She asked sweetly, her voice still low.

 

Reiji ,being to shy to speak, scribbled 'yes' on a piece of paper, and slid it through the window.

 

Eva slowly walked back to her room. Her stomach rumbled, complaining, but she ignored it. She curled up on her bed, still in panther form, and fell asleep.

 

Kaylee tilted her head to the side and stared at the boy behind the glass, a small smile on her face. She pulled a pencil out of her pocket and thought for a second, flipping the paper over and beginning to sketch something there lightly. She drew carefully, perfecting the shape and shading. She bit down lightly on her tongue as she did so, delicate and soft.

Kaylee pulled the paper from the door and slid it through the window. She had drawn a small version of the boy looking around and scribbled: "Name?" Above it. She giggled playfully, liking this exchange.

 

Reiji unfolded the paper. 'Reiji' was scribbled on a scrap paper then he slid it through. He smiled back at her. 'Are you the only one? Are there others?' he wrote and slid trhough on more scrap.

 

keara sat against the granite wall, tearing up. the guards had just finished ripping her wings. she shuddered, the open wounds on her back scabbing up. she winced at it, grabbing a handful of rocks and dirt. she looked up and around at the other gifted children. her time was coming, and it was coming up fast.

 

Kaylee thought about it and gazed through the glass into the boys eyes curiously before writing below his text: 'There are more...Are you alone in there...?' She slid it back through the window and stepped back once more, looking around for any Guards. If he was alone then why? And why was he in one of the locked cells? She frowned, gazing sadly at him for another moment.

 

Reiji scribbled 'yes, I am alone...I've always been alone. I can't take it anymore, I want OUT'

 

Kaylee took a deep, soft breath and wrote back: 'Then I'll do everything in my power to help you out.' She wrote, sliding it back through the window and staring once more.

Sasuke woke up notice no one was really around, he sighed because he couldn't walk anywhere.

 

Reiji smiled as he took the paper. He began to write his reply when he heard footsteps.
He quiclky scribble his reply ' Tell the others about me and Please don't forget me.' then drew a butterfly. Touching it, it lifted off the page and fluttered above Kaylee's head before it disappered.

BIC: Eva slowly padded out to the main rooms, yawning. Her long teeth glinted in the light.

 

Kaylee watched before stuffing the paper into her pocket. Guards were coming. She breathed deeply before turning quickly in the direction the those stairs she was headed to. She skipped down them, rather gracefully and turned left like Seth had told her to. She moved slowly in the darkness, groping for any thing she could lean on. After a few minutes she found a wall that seemed to be built of concrete.

She slouched against is and sunk to the floor, holding her knees to her chest and burying her face into them shakily. She wouldn't forget him, and she would tell the others.

 

Reiji slinked back towards his bed, the animation he had done had drained his energy.

"please come back soon..." He whispered to himself.

He laid on his bed and closed his eyes for a small rest.

 

Seth ran up to the location where Kaylee was and sighed a sigh of relieve that he caught up to her and looked down at her "damn it I was wrong but at least I caught up to you" Seth said

 

Kaylee quickly lifted her head, blinking tears away and sitting straight once again. "Wrong? And keep it down, Seth." She looked around and stood slowly, holding onto his arm briefly for support. Her eyes flashed with worry as she peered through the darkness up at him. "What about?"

 

"this isn't the place to the showers" Seth said as he heard foots steps "don't worry I make sure they won't hurt you" Seth said looking at her with a smile and began to head towards where the footsteps were

 

Eva yawned again, then shifted back.
