The Orphanage

Elevir scratched the back of her head in silence, looking toward the ground. She'd really only done it because she had to...

Suddenly she realized how vulnerable she was in her current situation. She was alone in a room with a guard and the Director, either of which could kill her at any moment... The feeling from earlier worsened.

 

"Why didn't you kill him? You had all the tools neccesary." the director interlaced his fingers in a quilt like manner. He had to understand this child, to understand her demeanor.

 

"You might have forgotten..." the cheery girl from before was gone. "To most of us, most of humanity... Killing is immoral. It's a last resort. I didn't need to kill him. That's why I didn't."

 

"That look in your eyes tells a diffrent story. Tell me, what do you know of Larz?"

 

"I know that..." She had to hesitate, which she was sure she would regret. "I know that he's a better person that you give him credit for. And that you somehow hold pity for him, although you're doing nothing to stop him from bleeding to death right now." she said strongly. Her voice gave the impression that she was way more confident than she actually was... she didn't know how much of a good thing that was.

 

"Actually I have. I have sent one of my best officers to bring him down to surgery. I do many things child, none of them is letting my son die. You care about him don't you?"

 

"I don't think I have to answer that. You know already." she answered. What was he trying to pull?

 

"I honestly don't. All I know about you is your killer instinct."

 

"Why must I say it out loud? I can read minds, you know... I see right through your stupid lies. I consider Larz a friend. Of course I care about him."

 

"Then you should practice more reader. You've barely known him a few minutes. Anyways, soon you'll never have to worry about him again."

 

Huh? No, he can't be saying...
"So you're finally going to...?"

 

"No, no I'm not. I told you already. I'm not letting him die. I'm just going to take all the neccesary precautions to stop this from happening again."

 

Aly sighed, then smiled slightly. "Be careful. Guards." she reminded the girl, her eyes watching everything. Any slight noise and she turned her head to look.

 

"I already told you, we're frozen in time... no one can do anything to us right now." she explained again, then turned back to Eva.

"Hm. Well... What kinds of precautions?"

 

Eva bird twittered, then lead the way down another passage.

Aly shivered. "I still don't like this feeling...someone might have gotten out of it." She looked around, getting the creepy feeling they were being watched.

 

"I will be putting him in a chemically induced coma. Incase he ever wakes, we will be amputating his limbs."

 

Reiji sighed, he had his freedom for ten minutes and now he was lost. Seperated from the group he wondered the halls.

"And you were asking me why I didn't just kill him." she stated, a ferocity to her tone that wasn't there before.

Her eyes turned a deep purple, contrasting the silver they had been seconds earlier. Something seemed to flicker behind her.

"You shouldn't worry," Legend spoke, "But if you want, I can sing another song to make sure,"

 

"Yes, completely. He tried to kill you for fun. He drips with blood. Now he will be blocked from everyone forever. You could have been a hero."

 

Aly hesitated. "What about the madman? I mean...he hurt Eva, and other people, but we shouldn't just leave him to die." She smiled. "Thanks."
