The moment Alex spoke to her Elle fell silent, the sounds from her where the hiccups from her sobs.

 

Ada listened to the others, but didnt let her gaze move from the window..."Why are they watching us so intently?" She asked quietly...

 

"dunno...."he said "lets ignor them...forget they're there....didnt we come here for fun? not to be terrified of some dog..."



i dont think we're terrifie of a dog i think we're terrified of the dogs,there's gotta be more than this...they move in packs dont they?"

 

"Exactly, And if they move in packs, then theres two things that could be happening. A...There all out there, but only a select few are bothering us. Or B...There surrounding us, hidden in the tree's" Ada stated quietly.

 

Elle started to shake violently at the second idea, she was more terrified then she had ever been in her life. And furious at Casey for forcing her to come along. However the fear was overriding the anger and creating a stomach turning feeling of adrenaline and terror.

 

"Elle, You'l be fine. If they are like normal dogs, then you'l be safe. Dogs can sense mothers to be, and therefore dont usually attack people who are expecting young ones..." Ada told her.

 

Elle went the palest shade of white possible when Ada said the words 'mother to be', she'd only told Lyra, Casey and Ada. And it seemed that Ada had forgotten, and to make things worse the unknowing father was in the room.

 

"your pregnant?"Alex said

"oh no..."lyra mutterd

 

Elle looked blankly at the floor for a while before slowly nodding her head. "Y-Yes..."

 

"I was on about the fact that she was the one helping the pup before she gave him to jordan,,i meant dogs dont usually harm the people who help there pups" Ada stated simply...

 

"then thats all the more reason to stay in side..."Alex said

 

"Y-Yeah..." Elle nodded. Feeling as though a part of her had died, he hadn't even asked if it could be his... He barely seemed to care... Was that what he thought of her? That it COULD be someone elses even though it had only been three months? They'd only been there a short while and it felt to her like the holiday had brought the world crashing down on her.

 

"So yeah, since Elle helped the pup, the pups mother, who is most likeley the pregnant one outside, will not harm Elle. Therefore, the others wont attack her." Ada asnwered.

 

he sighed,he'd been thinking it might be his,but didnt want to ask,incase it wasnt,that would be akward for them....it was akward enough already...

"im going to bed....i cant take just sitting here anymore..."Lyra said getting up

 

"Il stay and watch them. I'd go outside, but im not sure if they'd be able to tell if I was human or a real Wolf"

 

"Yeah... I'm gonna go now too..." Casey added, standing up at the same time as Lyra.

 

she smiled and headed up stairs

 

Casey followed after her, leaving Elle downstairs with Alex and Ada.

 

"Should i try and get outside?" Ada asked to break the silence.

 

Alex sat on the window ledge,looking out at the dogs"no."he said

Lyra passed jordan's room,the door was open,him and lisa were already asleep,she shut the door,and went into her room
