    IT'S ON
    JUST READ 525

I think I'll be caught up sometime early June.
I could have been much farther by now but when I was reading Thriller Bark I slowed to a crawl, was a little burnt out after Enies.
maybe i'll save the last couple chapters for my birthday if i make it in time. that would be sweeeet.

I think I'm going to take a hiatus from the site. I don't know how long it's going to last. But at this point, I don't really feel comfortable here. If anyone wants to reach me, my skype's in my profile and my tumblr's in my signature.

I don't know if any of the threads from yesterday contributed to this, but in any case, sorry to see you go. :c

You know that moment when you watch a movie you haven't watched in a while and then notice some of the jokes you hadn't gotten before and you just crack up so much?

Yeeeeah. And it's happening too late into the night. D:

Did you actually watch Nichijou? It strikes me as something you'd hate.

This particular thing was just because the humor is decidedly very Japanese and you seem none too wild about Glorious Nippon.

Well my tastes are nothing if not inconsistent, so consider Nichijou an anomaly I guess.
I know I come off as an extreme American comic supremacist sometimes, and truth be told maybe I want to, but that's just me trying to identify with a culture I better understand and enjoy more. I do have an appreciation for Japanese media as well. Jr. high and early high school was my big anime/manga phase, though growing up watching Fox Kids/Box/4kids and Toonami I had been exposed to it for much longer. At some point I started to grow out of it, and I later discovered a geek community on YouTube that I now follow religiously. Because of the nature of this community and it being built upon critical analysis of comic book properties, I started to develop a distaste for anime and manga. Obviously I'm able to put my thoughts on Japanese shows and comics aside to some degree and enjoy my old favorites (I've been reading One Piece like mad after all) and give some others a chance, but I'm still "none too wild" about anime and manga on the whole. Right now I'm in a place where I don't understand what my tastes are (not just shows and comics), so I'm not able to articulate my thoughts and feelings any better or farther than this.
Maybe you understand me a little better now?

I mean, I sorta figured as much as you just said based on our past discussions and stuff but I still do view you as primarily someone who would only really follow old or high profile anime due to exposure because you naturally would not actively seek out a lot of this stuff. So a series like Nichijou which was unpopular and a complete commercial failure in Japan to the extent that people thought might be the end of KyoAni just didn't seem like it'd show up on your radar or attract your attention.

Well for one I don't follow anime much at all, if a manga exists that's what I'm gonna go after. But yes, that's a pretty apt assessment.

    it was recommended to me.

I didn't know it was a failure. That surprises me honestly.

I AM IN DAY THREE OF MY PROBABLY 2 WEEK LONG HOMEWORK COMA, i am falling apart already. I have planned out each of my days, with usually one assignment per day which doesn't sound too bad... but some of those assignments are lengthy and intensive papers. I'm writing a research paper about bullying in schools, its impact on students, and what my role as a (future) educator will be in responding to it and I have to use APA citation & formatting which I ****ing hate and I've written almost six pages (goal is five to eight) so far but I also have two full pages of references (not included in six page count) and I'm getting self-conscious about that and **** my lifeeeeeeeeeeeee

It doesn't help that I am working every day this week except Monday, meaning that I'll basically be going from school to work most days. I'm going to ****ing die I cannot wait until this semester is over I am going to eat SO MUCH GODDAMN FOOD and continue my exercising which I started again recently but has been interrupted by said homework coma and play video games and read books and sleep all day and not give a ****

this breakdown has also been set to the soundtrack of Rio 2 and I will fight anyone who makes fun of me it has good songs shut up

Often enough that you rarely finish at 5, what we learn to do is drag out the call previous to it and have that finish as close to 5 as possible.
