OP just got really dark. This whole human trafficking thing is insane. I never thought I would see something like that here. I mean yeah there's been dark things in past arcs, Skypiea particularly, but this is something else entirely. And I love it. This following the much-needed levity at the start of the arc is great, and given that I know things are about to get pretty intense, this is a great way to introduce a completely new level of world govt/marine corruption and make me hate them even more.

 

We can just kill you tomorrow morning if it's gonna be an inconvenience.

The one club so far that I'm part of (a harry potter club that does charity things) is having elections to decide positions for next year and I'm not sure if I want to go with Pres./VP or Secretary. Secretary is a rather safe bet and seems fun, but I don't want to just go with it because it's something safe. Not gonna go into a long dialogue about it, but I am not the most confident person (as you can see when this takes me like 20 minutes to write lol) and it has been especially true with college these last near two years, and I'm not sure if it's nerves, a fear, or whatever. The point is, I do have an interest in a more leader-ish role and know that I do have potential to do it very well but that is also competing with hella "I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN DO THIS", lol.

what should I do
I was thinking of trying for all three of them as I do want a position, it's just a matter of going for leader spot or complacent spot

 

even if you're not 200% confident, it doesn't hurt to try for a spot. if you're not totally fine with being the head honcho, VP seems like a good spot -- nice and cozy between safe and adventurous.

 

So my hours for next week were posted. I'm going to die. I know it's Easter week and I work in the grocery industry but holy crap...

 

What are your hours?

 

Monday: 8 - 4 [ I said I'd cover a shift for someone. ]
Tuesday: 8 - 2 [ Inventory day]
Wednesday: 8 - 4
Thursday: 8 - 4
Friday: 8 - 4

Keep in mind this is a retail/cashiering schedule. Add in my random aches and pains, crabby customers determined to make your life hell, and co-workers whining that they can't leave early and then acting crabby because they can't leave early.

 

I had 30 hours weeks when I was a cashier/retailer, almost everyone did. The normal week is 35 hours here but they stuck us at 30 in case someone didn' t show up (that way they could throw five surprise hours at anyone at the normal hourly pay, if we went over 35 they' d have to pay us more).

My first boss there was cheating the laws in pretty much every conceivable way. He didn' t even give chairs to the cashiers, that' s how cheap he was. Eventually someone denounced him and we got inspected. Watching him mumble pathetic excuses, if he could even come up with one, was quite enjoyable. It almost made his usual barking worth it. Shortly after that he sold the store to someone else.

 

im about to cave and watch frozen even though i said i was going to wait.
i feel like the universe is trying to tell me to just watch the goddamn movie already with all the hype still being very present.

 

Not the universe, just the fans who won't shut up.

Don't hold your breath. People enjoy hyping the hell out of anything they're interested in, especially good stuff.
