If only I had an actual room of privacy, else I'd totally want to be on the podcast all the time.

So I finally saw Thor 2 in glorious bluray and it toyed with my emotions. A lot of things seem to be doing that lately. Not sure if I approve.

I know what you mean. Especially when the characters and the settings are so well developed. But there are certain ones that resonate with me more than others for whatever reasons. And I end up feeling for them.

So apparently saying that two girls in a drawing look like they're wearing bridesmaid dresses as opposed to wedding dresses makes me homophobic |:

Well, if they were white dresses and someone had a veil on, then you'd have the right to feel silly about yourself for a moment there.

"Homophobic", though? Now there's a word that gets thrown around easily....

oh yeah definitely. It doesn't even have to be an emotional scene but if I'm invested I'll start getting all kinds of feels that are then converted to water in my eyes. Man of Steel is not an especially sad or emotional movie, but I tear up a good three or four times while watching it. Those flashback scenes hit me in a place.

    that doesn't even make sense.

People will find the dumbest reasons to call others homophobic these days.

If it was on somewhere like Tumblr or something, it's best to try not to think about it too much. Some people there are far too quick to assume the worst & very judgmental -- which is basically the same offline or on now that I think about it. :v But yeah, try not to concern yourself with it too much.

edit: offtopic but I beat inFamous and yooooo that ending through me for a loop for a bit, but made so much sense in hindsight. I didn't really have any favorites (I dislike Trish & Zeke, lol), but I started inFamous 2 yesterday and NIX IS SO GREAT.

Just watched a review of Silent Hill Downpour...is it really that hard to come up with a story that doesn't just copy Silent Hill 2's themes?

Finished it myself a few weeks ago. Judging from the interviews its writers didn' t understand and didn' t care about the cult thing. But that was the point, it was scary because of how nonsensical i.e. unpredictable it was. Now that SH2 has become the ad nauseam formula we can see everything coming from a mile away. I hope whoever makes the next one will actually try to be disturbing.

Pretty much. The main thing I've felt from the past Silent Hill games is that the writers think the town is simply a place to manifest the main characters' psychological issues...which is not accurate at all with Silent Hill 1, Silent Hill 3, and Silent Hill 4 (even though that game was intended as a different series.) Hell, the first movie was more in line with the idea of being trapped in someone else's nightmares, mixed with frightening cults that worship strange deities, than the games have been. I get that "facing one's inner demons" allows for a good story, but it's also been done already, and perhaps the best form of it was in Silent Hill 2. Why the newer writers have been trying to keep using that is actively harming them.

This kind of subject keeps popping up in my mind since I seriously love Silent Hill and just want another game to be as good as the first three. Not the same, but in the same vein of quality (and some of the style, not all of what's been done.)

They were white dresses, no veils or bouquets, and just a comment about it being a good wedding. I just interpreted it as they had fun and weren't necessarily the ones getting married.

Oh I'm not concerned or afraid I'll get hate, it was just something I wanted to share.

    Yeeeep.
