Just saw 20 or so people of Jehovah's witnesses walking down my street ringing a lot of doorbells simultaneously. They're okay people, but, it seems a little intimidating when they do that ._.

Anyway, as for reading pretty much anything whether in silence or with music/noise on, it's also a difficult thing for me since I have trained all these years to have keen hearing. Like, I'm a really light sleeper anyway because almost anything can wake me up in an instant from deep sleep. But if I just have my laptop/computer whurring, I would need to have it whurring the whole time I'm reading something. Same with silence, if I decide to read in silence, it needs to be silent the entire time, or else even the slightest bit of noise breaks my concentration. Playing a song needs to be the same song looped for a while, so that it eventually tones out. I dunno, I'm just weird like that. D:

I'm actually kind of this way too, when I'm on my bed resting and I kind of fall asleep, if my computer turns off I immediately wake up because of the absense of that noise.

It's better if I read in silence though because I can easily absorb more information without having to re-read, atleast in my opinion, personal preferences.

I really didn't need another show to watch. I really didn't. But here I am watching Reign and drooling over all the costume porn.

When it comes to reading, I do not like hearing myself think at all. And I really think best when I have some sort of music playing. Since I get inspiration from music and everything. If I'm writing some big action type scene, I'll listen to really epic music. If I'm writing fluff, I'll put on '80s. If I'm writing something sad, I'll break out my Angst playlist.

The Portal 2 soundtrack is usually my go to for 'I need to concentrate'.

So Banished is tearing at my sanity. Things go great for about twenty minutes then my population drops from 25 to like, 10, and I get mad and restart the game. It hurts so good.

Edit: The menu music is bitchin' though.

Have you read the fan theory that states that The Dark Knight's Joker is ex-military? It's more-than-likely not true, but I enjoyed reading about the explanation, such as how the Joker doesn't have any difficulty with operating an RPG from a moving vehicle.

No I've never heard that. Sounds like an interesting theory but it's not something I ever cared to know. Like most people, I think the intrigue of the Joker is that we don't know anything about him. Still, it can be fun to hypothesize.

Yeah, I rarely (if ever) accept fan theories as true or part of being true, and I too enjoy the mystery behind that film's version of The Joker, but it's still cool to me when people make plausible connections.

well they're fan theories. no one should accept that they're true.

and it's funny that you bring this up because as i was watching the movie, i was thinking about how the joker gave multiple explanations about how he got the scars and his past, and i was (jokingly) wondering how many people at the time of release criticized the movie for being inconsistent lol

I don't think that people should never accept them. It's up to them on a personal level. A writer shouldn't really tell a fan "NO IT MEANS THIS," because the writer already made his/her product, and the customer can interpret it however he/she wants to. Though they can still have weak interpretations :>

It hurts to know some people can miss good writing like that :<

I just mean that they shouldn't be considered within the official continuity. I don't think there's anything wrong with an interpretation, just know that it's not officially true. Like, in my mind I can totally logic that scene in TDKR where it's daytime when Bane comes out of the bank, but it's nighttime after they come out of the tunnel. In my head the chase was longer than we saw and it's simply been truncated for film lol. Now I know this isn't true and it was just an editing mistake but that's how I choose to look at it as a fan ready and willing to make excuses for that film lol.

oh it's one of the best parts of the film imo.

A Jehova's witness came to my house one day.
I nodded at her and took whatever she gave me and cringed afterward.

I kinda feel fine with fan interpretations so long as they don't actually interfere with the canon of a story or plot, like if someone said "Bane killed Batman in The Dark Knight Rises," it's obviously untrue because of everything we see and hear.

Also jeez I just can't stand thinking about The Dark Knight Rises. So much went wrong with that film in so many different categories :\

WELL CLOSE YOUR EYES CUZ IM TALKIN ABOUT IT
Most people have that one movie that above all others they will make any excuse for and just do not care what other people say. TDKR is that movie for me. I don't care what's wrong with it. I love it. Where Begins and TDK were expertly crafted stories, TDKR is more of an experience than a story for me. I love the feeling of being immersed in the hopelessness of Banes occupation of Gotham. I don't know I just really like it. And Bane's effin awesome so that helps. And I know I can't say this without getting some hate but one of the few things I still don't like about the movie is Hathaway. I went in ready to be swayed by her performance and I don't know what it was about her portrayal of Selina but I just wasn't feelin it. So yeah. I'm not taking up for the movies flaws or saying that it's as good as the others, I simply could not care less what negative things people have to say about it when it comes to my enjoyment of the film.

For me, I always had faith in Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, which is awesome because she felt like the best character in that film to me; lots of charm, an understandable motivation, some of the best comedic lines in the Nolan trilogy, and just overall a well-portrayed heroine in an era where we're sorely lacking such things on the big screen in terms of, oddly enough, superhero films. Bane was cool up until they tried to actually give an explanation of his motivations, where he just falls flat. Also, Gotham in Bane's "anarchic rule" didn't work out for me because somehow the place with loose criminals looks RIDICULOUSLY CLEAN. Look at the streets and walls and people's clothing during that part of the film. It's better than where I live or go to school.

I was able to enjoy the film the first time I saw it because I had subconsciously switched my brain off at some point in the film, but when I actually had to think about what was good about it, I had a tough time, which is really sad to me because I had put so much faith in Nolan and Goyer at that point.

Wow, really? I thought Catwoman's one-liners were cringe-worthy. But yeah I have no real counter to any of these beyond I just don't care. All of these criticism are completely true and valid, but I am fully willing to look the other way for this movie.

Part of me wishes that Talia hadn't been in the film at all, she takes away so much from Bane, but then the other part of me loves that this is more of a sequel to Begins than TDK.

That's good. Walk towards the light.

Wait ... Don't go towards the light! Move away from the light, preferably in the opposite direction.
