Tongue-in-cheek only goes so far for me before I find something just plain annoying, which best sums up how I feel about that Fall Out Boy (as well as Panic at the Disco AND NO I'M NOT ADDING THAT STUPID EXCLAMATION MARK.) To me, they try so hard to be hip and cool and funny (Fall Out Boy's lyrics have never seemed clever to me) that they instead just kinda seem like the attention whores I got to hate being around starting in high school (who ironically were usually the biggest fans of such bands, but I don't want to imply that EVERY fan is like that, at all.) I just...don't feel a passion for rock from these people, while I do at least get that notion from Breaking Benjamin (though I do have a little beef with them; how many times can they write songs that use "breath," "forever," "end," and other go-to dramatic words?)

I hope I don't sound like the party pooper, I just don't get the whole pop-punk-rock or whatever scene that Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco seem to have popularized.

I have a movie date this Friday with my Canadian friend over Skype.

It's funny because I actually like her and she seems to like me, but I'm not sure if she does, yet she's the one that called this a date.

She also wrote me a really sweet letter saying how I'm really special to her.

Even if she is friendzoning me, I'm fine with that because she's just great enough that having her in my life at all is good enough for me.

as much as i love BB, their lyrics have never been particularly outstanding

edit: and regardless of what people say fob and p!atd are not really pop punk. except fob's first album and demo album, which are arguably pop punk.
    this is pop punk
fob and patd are part of that early 00's explosion of alternative bands that don't really fit into any one genre but w/e semantics

    i mean
i wouldnt know i havent played them
but. i dont know. i just know the people i were friends with in hs who followed pop punk religiously were adamant that fob was not pop punk. and really pop punk is a scene entirely separate from the mainstream fob and patd with entirely different values. and like i said you can argue that musically fobs early work is pop punk, but like most music pop punk has its own set of values and attitude promoted through the music that fob never had.

So, going on about music and stuff...

Has anyone given a good listen to Guilty Gear Xrd’s OST? Looking so far at it, Daisuke Ishiwatari is at it again, and somebody was kind enough to make “Remixes” of the themes (With Arc System Works’s permission, of course) using only his ear.

To provide examples of the best two remixes on my opinion so far:

    (Sol & Slayer's themes)

There’s more in that channel, by the way, the man has also remixed I-No and Potemkin’s theme and seems he is looking forward to doing the rest of the OST.

Also, Dragon Install theme song (Fittingly called “Ride The Fire”) and Heavy Day, I need them in my life.

This is the half-way point of my Spring Break. I've done nothing but play FFX HD and read Shoujo manga until 3 AM.

And I have a 20 page paper due Monday. go me. c:
