The coming weekend is the weekend I shall finally acquire Bravely Default.

Ghosts enjoy returning to three dimensions, no?

 

Finally started getting into Pokemon Y.

It's not baaaaaaad, but god damn Pokemon games have the worst pacing.

 

That game has like the best pacing in the series though lol (which, I know, ain't saying much)

 

Eh, I think it's just how slow it goes, especially when you go inside a place from being outside on your rollerskates, and you just ****ing crawl around the place.

 

I'm thinking it's karma for not playing it for many weeks. >_> <_<

 

The ridiculous amount of time between gyms two and three beg to differ.

Overall, it is leaps and bounds ahead of other games, and at least they give you an idea of where to go as opposed to, say, Gen 3 -- I love Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, but HOLY SHIT YOU COULD RUN AROUND AND GRIND TO LVL 100 BEFORE BEATING THE THIRD GYM AND STILL NOT KNOW WHERE TO GO GOD DAMN

 

Black/White have something to say about that :b

But yeah, I think X/Y definitely have some of the best pacing in the series. The time between the second and third gyms was pretty bad though. I also didn't like that the bulk of the plot happened pretty late in the game ala KH3D. But it was made up by the rivals being pretty likeable -- almost as much as Cheren and Bianca for me.

 

I dunno. I've tried to get into Black, and I just can't. Since I always play as the female, I guess it was just the forced relationship(?) with N that did it in for me.

 

I actually liked that there was such a big gap between gyms two and three. It gave the game a more unique sense of pacing. I felt like the game was going to end too quickly otherwise, because I was sweeping trainers and gym leaders left and right.

Are we talking about XY's pacing? I loved XY's pacing. * u* It was so wonky and offbeat and beautiful like the real world. Real talk one of my favorite parts of any journey was in RSE when you beat Norman and have to make the RIDICULOUS trek to the next town with a gym, and I kinda felt I was reliving it at some points in XY.

Yup, talking XY. And exactly, I like having non-linear pacing in a game series that's so used to it.

 

I'm finding hummus and flour tortillas to be the most amazing combination ever.

Pokemon X/Y's pace is actually pretty well done, from what I played atleast.

I prefer Gen V (BW and BW2) though, because Volcarona AKA Solaire AKA PRAISE THE SUN.

But, X/Y has Yveltal and Honedge, so I can forgive it.

But now seriously, can't comment much on it because of how little I played of it, but I really like what I'm seeing so far, I just wish some Pokemon weren't just in one route and in one route alone (I'm looking at you Honedge). Then again it's to be expected with so many Pokemon in one game.

On another news, Bravely Default as expected, is Godlike.

Late to X and Y, but I think that some of the time between Grant and Korrina should have been put between Viola and Grant.

I'm always Level 16-19 when I get to Grant and it's kind of hard to beat him for me for whatever reason.

Maybe I just suck that early on :l
