okay maybe i didn't give Joseph Joestar enough credit

to be fair the fighting game and my friend's descriptions of him didn't make him seem this likable

 

He's in my top 3 JoJo's

 

started the jojo manga a while back but fell off. it was okay but i had other stuff going on. maybe one of these days

 

i've been told the manga is very dated (first started in the mid-80's) so i've just been watching the most recent version of the anime that started in 2012

it's really good but it takes a couple episodes to move from exposition to real action in Arc 1 (first 9 episodes of S1)

 

dated isnt a problem for me
and coming from a person who's maybe read more "dated" stuff than most, jojo didnt strike me as super dated. not like its tezuka stuff

 

I can't imagine JoJo without the music and voice acting. They're just so enjoyable.

 

considering my first major introduction to JoJo was the fighting game, i feel you

If the problem is it being dated you could start reading Steel Ball RUN then Jojolion since they're separate from the first 6 part. They're the newest ones.

 

I'd kind of like to go through it in order, even if Steel Ball Run and Jojolion are their own separate thing from the other six

Once I catch up with the anime (preferably during Diamond Is Unbreakable's current run), I might move on to reading since I'm also hella curious about Vento Aureo

I've had some big plot points spoiled but it doesn't even matter because it's so insane and I kind of have to see it for myself
