I like to have trailers and screens and interviews, ones that give an idea of what the game is about. SQEX is definitely hyping FFXV, framing it as the best FF since 7 and the movie and the anime and the demos and all that ****. the sad thing is that it's not totally their fault, they kinda need to do this given the game's dev cycle and history and junk. it's going to hurt them, though, because there's no way the game will deliver on expectation -- there wasn't before they started the hype train in motion and especially not now that it's in full throttle

I think demos are a nice idea to give players an idea of how a game plays before they buy, since dropping a blind $60 on a game is hard for a lot of people (myself included). if Square had just done the FFXV demos and trailers, interviews, screens, etc, I think that would have been good; two demos is a lot but I see them as a kind of "sorry it took so long" goodwill measure. that uncovered event was so embarrassing though.

Ahh okay I can't tell what I'm going to think rn but I'll download a demo for sure! Thank you~

Watching some gameplay & it definitely does look that way lol. Would you recommend trying the first one? Or skipping to something more recent?

wow i was trying to reply to you and my computer crashed so i'll try to make this short lmao

anyhoo iunno if you said this out of genuine interest or bc you could sense my desperate need to yell excitedly at everyone abt this game but either way thank you. i guess it boils down to this if anyone is interested

(i'm not as familiar w/ ocarina of time as i am with this game, but)

The Link in Majora's Mask is the same one from Ocarina, yeah? So he might look like a kid, but he's not really one anymore. In fact he's more or less lost everything, especially given :v

Isn't it interesting then that the game is thematically all about loss? Like it's full of people & things that are familiar on a surface level, but possess new, unfamiliar qualities & identities. And the common thread between everyone there is that they're suffering some kind of loss, be it petty theft or mourning the death of a loved one (if not accepting their own).

It just comes off, intentionally or not, as representative of how the lens we're viewing the world through has changed. It's very clever given that the reuse of Ocarina's assets could have been detrimental to establishing a unique identity for this game; instead they were used to its benefit imo.

....uh anyway that's the gist of the conclusion i came to by the end of things. but obvi there are all sorts of interpretations out there, so.

It really depends on your taste, but personally I find that Diablo 3 (specifically with the reaper of souls expansion) is one of the best ways to play Diablo to date. Purists will of course disagree in some cases, but you will find that with all forms of entertainment. There are countless ways for you to play. If you like gaming on PC (I also think its available for mac) then you can try the first Act of the game for free. Just download the battle.net client and you should be able to download the trial from there. If not and you have either an Xbox One or a PS4, then I recommend either of those versions (it should be called: Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition). I say this because the dodge roll mechanic added to the thumbsticks is shockingly satisfying. The best thing about the game is that it literally never ends. You play through the Acts which are you "story" mode on whichever character you choose (there are six, all of which are viable in their owns ways), and after you are finished with that you can play through some end game stuff until you get bored. The end game content is really where it shines as the replay value is HUGE as long as you actually enjoy the game. Hilariously enough, despite previously playing and beating all of it on the PC, I decided to do it all again on PS4 and I don't regret a single moment.

My favorite part about it is how the items interact with the abilities. Like early in the game when you beat the first Act. if you are at a certain level (15-20 I think) you get a helmet drop that has a special effect that is so good and versatile that I used it for hundreds of levels (the soft cap is 80, but there is no real level cap).

    tl;dr

In diablo there are things called gems
    Gems have special effects
Gems can be put into your equipment to give those items the gem's effect
The helmet item I mentioned earlier is called Leoric's Crown
Leoric's Crown multiplies a gems effect by 75-100% (bonus)
Using that helmet you can power level, have almost no ability cooldowns (meaning they are very short), or farm a ton of gold. That is just to name a few things you can do with just THAT item. There are even more than that.

Sorry for gushing about that game. Its so effing good.

Apparently stores allowing people to use the bathroom based on their gender identity is putting girls at risk for sexual assault. That's a horrible crime, no doubt about it, but, um, first of all, what about the boys? Boys can be victims, too! Second of all, both boys and girls are already at risk even when people use the restroom based on their sex.

If anybody needs to be boycotted, it's people like these: https://www.facebook.com/ChristianConservativeAndNotAfraid/posts/933467153438842 In fact, they should be arrested for extreme discrimination.

i love how this cartoon completely sidesteps the concern being raised in order to demonize the people who raise it

smart people who question making restrooms gender-neutral dont care about the person who identifies as something non-traditional going where they like, theyre worried about the ****ing psycho hairy man who walks into the restroom where young girls are and creates an alarming situation if not an actually dangerous one. and although the point of political cartoons is to exaggerate an issue for satire (a problem in itself where an issue is boiled down to something so simplistic that it no longer represents the complexities of the matter at hand, just like how the left creates words that can be attached to any kind of behavior or opinion regardless of how complex that opinion may be. i.e. if someone is opposed to immigration on any level they're xenophobic), they only really serve to perpetuate a toxic environment when used as opinion substitutes.

The issue at hand is not making all restrooms gender-neutral; the issue is new laws meant to bar transgender people from using the bathrooms that correspond to their gender and force them to use the ones that correspond to the sex they were born as.

I won't say your opinion is wrong because it's an opinion, but here's the problem with that, and I mentioned this in my post: that can happen with a person of any sex. A hairy man (both sex and gender) could go into the men's restroom and create a potentially dangerous situation for the young boys, and vice-versa a woman could go into the women's restroom and cause a potentially dangerous situation for the young girls. People only seem to care about the young girls, but not the young boys, and while I realize females have had it a lot worse, and I do have empathy for them, it doesn't change the fact that young boys--or, rather, males in general--are and have also been victims of sexual harassment or assault. However, they're expected to not whine about it because they're men, and men always want sex, so they should feel proud and like a player because they had a woman or women all over them in the cases where it was a woman or women that sexually assaulted them. That's sadly the view many have when it comes to males being victims.

Yeah but the issue isn't simple at all. Unfortunately and I'm not saying it's okay, but if it's either "upset the minority or upset the majority", guess which one they are going to pick. It doesn't make it right, and in a perfect world it shouldn't be like that. However, discrimination isn't going anywhere (regrettably).

This may sound weird coming from me (since many of you probably don't think I get the bad end of discrimination), but having a seizure disorder/brain damage, I get that kinda treatment all the time from people I'm not close to.

In fact a popular youtuber (who I won't mention by name because he doesn't deserve the exposure) once told me on video to get into a second car accident so I can undo the damage that was done and "knock stuff back into place". That may not seem like a big deal to some of you, but that happening (among other things) probably not even a month after my accident, it threw me down a series a hopelessly ****** choices and intense depression (which was around the time I got banned from khv, eyyy)

Perhaps I'm just a little more hardened, or am just used to treatment that I shouldn't be. It's just I don't see discrimination ever fully going away.

If you played it before the upgrade that would explain it. You can now swap your weapons around, which does add some welcome variety/strategy. And you can fight the Catoblepas, dunno if anyone out there managed not to get stomped promptly against him. You don' t have to go through the entire demo to check that out mind you, your save file gets patched as well.

As for the new demo it doesn' t really add anything we didn' t already know gameplay-wise (just a few spells), but it' s on rails and more narrative driven, which I think is precisely the kind of thing you were waiting for.
