Instead of guests sitting by who they know, will you make them sit by which side of the Force?

    copy-pasta from my Bookface

    I highly recommend "The Witch."

Don't go in expecting a typical horror film; you won't get that (and lots of people keep complaining about that.) Instead, it's a fantastic period piece that's more unsettling than anything and uses cinematography and score and strong acting for some truly disturbing scenes.

It was partly a joke since there's a lot of moon....stuff in that movie

Also yeah princesses are always poison to anime. Not that Naruto has been pure for years...

I mean shieet if you watched the trailer or heard anything about the movie you would know what you are getting into. I figured people that didn't like Naruto x Hinata stuff would have just stayed away lol. Also have you not seen any of the other movies? Or watched the anime? Or read the manga? I ask because it is filled to the brim with some weird stuff. That being said I enjoyed it, but it wasn't like the best movie ever. Not even close, but it wasn't awful. You want awful? Watch the boat filler arc.

I hadn't watched any of the anime since like, before Orochimaru (I dropped out real fast) and my only knowledge of the story came from intermittently playing/watching the Ultimate Ninja Storm games. Read only the first chapter of the manga.

I thought the movie was....decent. Real terrible dialogue but it's Naruto. Real fantastic battles though.

Also from my limited understanding, Naruto x Hinata is the best pairing in the series, with Sakura x Sasuke being the worst.

ive read the manga and watched the movies before this. ive never supported any romances in this series because not a one feels natural for anyone involved. except shikamaru and that one fan girl. thats some organic **** right there my friend. no spectacle no drama just a couple people that hit it off
i knew exactly what i was getting into and hoped for a brief moment that it would subvert those expectations. but i need to watch it anyway so whatever
road to ninja was pretty much perfect as far as anime spinoff movies are concerned so i guess i was hoping for something a little quality. o well[DOUBLEPOST=1456632661][/DOUBLEPOST]
here's a pretty good example for why i think this is wrong: it wouldn't exist if not for a dream sequence.

Ludwig in The Old Hunters is such a great battle.

    o ok

I just like Hinata and seeing Naruto be more responsible so yeah (but the writing HURTS in the movie.) I don't invest much into Naruto, as I've already shown in my other post.

like im just not a person who enjoys fan pairings except for a select few cases. people can ship whatever they want, idgaf. but that bleeding into actual material in such an obtuse way is when i feel like i need to be a little more vocal on my disapproval. and by vocal i just mean posting about it on the internet. this is a cartoon movie about super ninjas, not exactly heated over this one. but i am a little annoyed that something that was such a big part of my childhood entertainment became so pandering in the end.

i don't know how much you know about the series, but him being responsible was something that had kinda been covered by the end of the comic. this whole movie is pretty much gratuitous fanservice.

I can kind of agree with your stance, though I think I'm a bit more liberal about fan pairings bleeding into source material. Sometimes, some fans just know the characters better seemingly than even the writers. Legend of Korra appropriately got shit in its first two books for REPEATEDLY pushing Mako x Korra on us when, as a fan since Avatar The Last Airbender with friends and family who likewise had watched since then, felt that relationship just did not call for romance.

At least when it comes to Naruto, Kishimoto just did not seem to have any sort of idea what his end goal for the story was. It went all over the place: resurrected characters, Sasuke's BS, various villains who ended up good guys, Sakura permanently being useless, etc.

My knowledge is very sparse; I know gaps of certain arcs, mainly in the beginning, so...it's hard to answer that.

    i disagree
i think he knew exactly what he wanted but didn't know how to get there. or at least didn't know how to get there well. and i want to say he was forced to stretch it to an even 700. i mean come on.
i think by end of the series sasuke is by far the best in the whole thing.
i wouldn't call Sakura useless. in the grand scope of the story she's a relatively insignificant character whose proximity to the main characters is the only reason she's there in the first place. from the beginning she was just a filler character to be on the team and i think she fills that role just fine. i don't know what the fan expectations were for that character but it seems like anything short of her being a badass mother****er who starred in every chapter wouldn't satisfy.
madara and tobi kinda ruined the whole thing somehow. that stuff was so exciting until its all revealed and then you realize its not as cool as you thought it would be.

I didn't get the feeling that he knew exactly what he wanted at all, but to each his own.

You yourself state that Sakura is basically filler. Then...why not just cut Sakura out? Why bloat the series' cast and waste time on people like her instead of giving that seemingly minor role of her to someone else who could actually impact the story?

Then again I, again, basically skimmed the series, so whatevs, I could be misinformed but I never got the impression that Sakura has to be there, among other creative decisions.

Sakura isn't filler, but she also isn't from a super gifted family with perfect "killing" genes, and she also doesn't have that WITH a tailed beast. Sasuke and Naruto both suffered a great deal in the series, but they were also overpowered as ****. I like to reference the Sasori fight whenever people say that Sakura is *insert bad thing here*. She (with help, but still) kicked an Akatsuki member's ass. Of course there a lot of holes in that fight in terms of what she "actually did" considering Chiyo controlled her for a huge portion, gave her intel, and at the very end Sasori chose to die (choosing not to dodge the last attack for whatever reason). So yeah she had a lot of help, but its not like Naruto and Sasuke weren't spoon fed good things throughout the entire series.

tl;dr is she bad when compared to people with god like powers? Duh. Is she bad when compared to skilled ninja? No, not really.
