Interesting bit of trivia: According to the OP wiki chapter 121 was released today in 2000 and I read that chapter earlier today. I'm 14 years behind.

Watched Planet of the Apes today. It was good. I liked it. I liked Rise more, though. Rise had more emotional weight to it and this one was entirely broad social commentary through satire with little to no emotion. None of the characters meant anything aside from the psychologists. The mc was an ass. The whole first half hour where they do nothing but walk around is kinda boring. Still liked it though. And I kinda resist that apes are fluent in colloquial English but w/e it's kinda funny that way. Would watch again.

I just wrote a paper for an art class where I had to analyze and comment on something and I chose this Star Wars poster. It got me thinking, how awesome is that poster. Definitely my favorite movie poster. The Empire one is cool too but I like this one better and this movie better so. I also was thinking about how much I like watching the Star Wars movies, specifically the originals. They make me feel all good and warm inside. Except Attack of the Clones. **** that movie. That's not fair I kinda like it too. I'm sorry, childhood. They're also the kind of things that I like having playing in the background. It's kinda become a thing where I put the 1977 movie on when I go to sleep.

Aw man I do love that design (I actually have a broken SW VHS tape that I bought just because it had that cover) but I think I love this Empire one more. It's definitely influenced by my love of Empire, though--A New Hope is very much about the splendor of Star Wars, the excitement, which is reflected in the poster. There's something more sinister and vulnerable in the Empire poster, though--Luke is slightly confused, like he's searching for something, and Han/Leia is like my ultimate otp sooooooo. I love also that it fades out at the bottom into the ice of Hoth, despite them leaving Hoth rather quickly it's such a telling way to open the movie and I love that it's recognized in the poster.

AND OKAY, the prequels are awful. Like, really bad. The acting and dialogue is generally horrid, and while there's actually a pretty cool political conflict going on, very little of it is translated to the screen. The last two absolutely pivot on the Anakin/Padme romance and it's usually pretty damn cringeworthy.

But I love them. I know I shouldn't like them but there's something that makes me keep watching them, especially Attack of the Clones. I think it's generally agreed that RotS is the strongest of the three but I love Attack of the Clones for some reason I can never place.

Yeah that Empire poster is really nice as well. I think all of the Star Wars posters are good.

Attack of the Clones is the only one of the prequels that I don't like to watch. I still get some enjoyment out of it, but if I'm watching a prequel movie it's going to be RotS. I was in my big Star Wars kick when that came out so that movie holds a lot of fond memories for me. They all do, but that one in particular. Though A New Hope is my favorite Star Wars movie. And yeah, the prequels are awful, I know, but when you're a kid you're not thinking of things like that you're thinking oh my god that lightsaber fight is so awesome. It's like the first time I heard people criticize the Yoda/Dooku fight in AotC saying that Yoda shouldn't be moving around that much. I was like wtf how can you say that it looks amazing. But yeah, looking at them now the problems are apparent but I don't care. It's one of those things that holds so much childhood value I will never not like them.

I've cashiered 3 out of 5 days. All the while having this cold that while not terrible it's annoying. My only consolation is that the customers who gave me **** have the potential of sharing in my misery.

The best way to inflict misery is transfer your own unto others.

I've just had a tiring week in the office, the buildings suffered flood damage and electrical failure this week and it's our job to sort it out and deal with the fallout of it all, this weekend will be well enjoyed.

So now that I've had P3F for a while here are my thoughts.

My initial thought is it's fun. It's not like the best thing ever, but it's alright. It's something that I'll go a week or so without playing at all because of how repetitive it can be, but then I'll sit down and play it for like 6 hours at a time. Which I just did. The social aspect part is both a strength and a weakness. It's cool that it's there and I enjoy it sometimes, but it doesn't do much and serves no real purpose aside from gaining extra exp when fusing Personas. However, you have to take part in the social aspect otherwise there's nothing to the game, yet doing it is so unrewarding that it feels like a waste. At least that's all that I've noticed so far. I hope it gets more involved later on but for now I'm not caring for it.Not a terrible system, but they didn't go far enough with it imo. It's the most repetitive part of the game, and I've gotten to the point where I basically have no interest in the social aspect and just want to go explore Tartarus because none of the people mean anything whatsoever. Maybe later on in the game it will get more interesting, I don't know. As for the gameplay, I love it. I have no idea why I like it so much, but something about the combat system is really entertaining to me and worth playing the game just for that. Nitpick: the Personas look like **** in-game. It sucks because the art for them is gorgeous, but they look incredibly generic aside from the main ones like Orpheus and Hermes. I feel like the game is unnecessarily long. The box boasts that it's a 70+ hour game (which I already know I'll take much longer) and I'm already 28 hours in and nothing of real significance has happened. I just met Fuuka (who, by the way, is really nice and I did not expect to like her as much as I do because I thought she would be your typical soft-spoken, frail archetype which she kinda is but not to the point where it's her entire character, unlike Chihiro who I hate.) and the entire story surrounding her was a giant waste of time. Or maybe that's just a sign of how not invested I am in the story itself. Speaking of the story, the game really doesn't focus on it at all, despite the game setting it up like there was heavy **** going down. The initial premise for the game is very interesting, but it doesn't do enough with it. Towards the end of the introduction part of the game you're told that you will be exploring Tartarus, which is fine, but when that becomes the entire crux of the game and you realize there's nothing at all to find to advance the story in Tartarus and it's just a way to force gameplay in between the parts that actually matter, it feels very cheap. You have to wait a whole month before you get the next chunk of story, and it seems like it's just stalling till the last leg of the game where things will really start mattering. Though I think this fault may be more credited to the genre and not so much the game itself. Which doesn't excuse the horrible pacing, but does explain why it's there. If that's the case than this type of social game isn't exactly my thing, but still somewhat enjoyable. I just wish the narrative was given more attention. W/e.

(Question for people who have played the game: At 28 hours in and just having met Fuuka a couple hours ago, am I really behind or ahead or about where I should be or what?)

There is no definitively correct answer for this. Everyone plays and takes in a game differently. Some will stagnate to grind EXP, weapons, costumes, etc and others will just plow through. IIRC I was at the summer vacation part around 28 hours in. Just play at your own pace and try to enjoy it (it does get a lot better pretty soon and you meet more interesting social links)

Well I'm playing through P3P (male, so same as u) on maniac and I'm at 13 hours on 5/30. 9 days before the full moon with Fuuka. But I've also played the game twice (FES and P3P fem), and am following a max S.Link guide.

Can't remember what my time was with FES at that part the first time, though.

OH YEAH. I haven't gone into Tartarus yet either, so that'll easily add at least probably 2-4 hours. So around 16 or 17 hours for Fuuka event most likely. ...Then again, I'm on maniac so maybe it'll be closer to 20.

    Whatever.

This post is too long. But I'm done now so we gud.

WHAT HAPPENED TO MY SILENT HULKING MURDERBOT WHO CAN KILL SIX JEDI AT ONCE

Besides that you can always get me to watch Phantom Menace with the promise of Darth Maul at the end

I have been meaning to try this particular viewing order just to see if it would improve the prequels for me a bit.

Professor: "You know the saying, the road to hell is..."

    Everyone: "paved with good intentions."

Me: "lined with the skulls of unbaptized babies." "..."

I got Scribblenauts Unmasked today. That intro was so cute. It made me smile.
The music in this game is astounding.

To me, that just sounds more like episode 1 fanboy hate. I think it's the strongest of the prequels.

There's no reason to omit it because it adds everything he said skipping it would do, but with more clarity, Darth Maul, and an excuse for Episode 1: Racer to exist

I kinda disagree as, to me at least, Episode I contained so few moments that actually affected the storyline of the Force being a great power that could be used to save the world or destroy it (ohwowthatsoundsfamiliar) and that's the kind of story I prefer to the political, over-explanatory mess that Episode I feels like to me. That isn't to say that there aren't any important storylines established in that film, however, but whatever unique storylines contained in Episode I and then not mentioned again were pretty poorly executed.

(I'm totally not sure if these could be counted as spoilers still but I'm cautious.)

The biggest missed opportunity to me with Episode I is the climax of the story. Obi-Wan sees Darth Maul kill his master Qui-Gon. That would have been a perfect opportunity to show Obi-Wan succumbing to a visibly displayable anger/hate for a moment in front of a young Anakin Skywalker (which would have helped influence Anakin's eventual turn,) rather than the quick conclusion we were given. It would have given Obi-Wan a more dynamic character as well, since for most of the films, we comes off as the perfect influence (I mean, I generally like that image, but not for practically every appearance he makes :v)

    And the race was...alright.
