is it possible to get fire emblem fates revelations without buying the dlc for the other path as well?
like if im buying a game for $40, i dont want to pay $20 for dlc for the other path, i'd rather just pay the full $40 to have a physical copy and not have my sd eaten up. but if Revelations is behind that $20 and paired with the other path so I have to get it along with one of the other paths, my choice is kind of made for me i guess.

I think that Revelations is DLC when you have both paths whether or not they're both physical.

The Special Edition charged $80 for all three so I wouldn't know since they all come on one game card :'D

how long till gen 1 pokemon is no longer treated as the supreme king of pokemon games? gen 1 sucked. from what i understand, the games themselves were pretty poorly made on a technical level. kanto is boring as ****. almost every generation since has eclipsed it in every sense. and 151 pokemon aint even that many. i understand the respect it deserves for kickstarting such a video game juggernaut here in the west and introducing some pertty revolutionary concepts over here as well or whatever, but nobody should be clamoring for another kanto remake. no one should be suggesting to people who have never experienced pokemon to try these games first (that's really why im typing this).

Gen 1 will never stop being treated this way because the only people who actually hold this train of thought, from what I've seen, are people who don't even play the games anymore, or in any other capacity follow it. They're using their only experience with the franchise as the reference for what is and is not quality; anything that could potentially conflict with that thinking is ignored.

But, I can list a few subjective things about Gen 1 that I hold in high esteem that doesn't include being the one to start the series:
    • The genetic Pokemon lore of Mew, Mewtwo, and theoretically Ditto.
    • The rivalry with Blue/Gary being probably the best rivalry so far in the mainline games (followed by Silver in Gen 2) due to how much I wanted to beat his shit in.
    • Some of my favorite music, alongside Gen 4.
    • Probably the best Elite Four, it's between Gen 1 and Gen 3 for me right now.

The series still looks pretty fugly to me. Earthbound has ten times the charm.
Not that I would play them. I was like 19 already when I played one of the first gen games and I' m not sure I even finished it. It was clearly meant for wee kids. I played it on emulator, so I could manipulate the RNG somewhat, yet I quickly lost any motivation to "catch them all", let alone level them all. The towns were nearly empty, the story might as well not have been there at all, it felt like all I did was fight, fight and fight some more. I was bored out of my mind.

I played Gen1 of Pokemon. It wasn't anything really spectacular and I used to take it to give me something to do between classes at college. I never really did 100% of it. There might be some nostalgia attached to it and I can admit that. I've watched other people play the other games. Which honestly I like better than playing the games myself. I think it's more the commentary than the actual game.

And Dratini's still one of my favorites.

In other news, we're(i'm based in central Wisconsin) supposed to get a good amount of snow on Tuesday. They, (the weather channel), predicts in excess of 6 inches with blowing and drifting.

My first Pokemon game was Gold, and I never really got to play gen 1 until FireRed came out.

While I loved playing it when I was like four (it's actually one of the first games I consciously remember playing), the level grinding has just become too tedious for me nowadays, which is a real shame because the battles themselves are always fun as hell.

Thinking back, Kanto really wasn't as fun to explore as Johto, but I will say that the Mew/Mewtwo lore has always been some of the coolest to me (First and Third movies are tied for my favorites).

I woke up at 6am today after going to bed at 3am, so I'm going to lay in my bed for an hour or two and think about what I've done.

    guys. guys. guys.
I am adoring Ocarina of Time. it's giving me that same feeling of wonder and adventure that I've only experienced with the first Kingdom Hearts before this.
Super glad that I finally tried a Zelda game and that I like it so so much
that's not to say that I think this and kh are the best games ever or anything or that theyre my favorites, but both do such a good job of capturing this incredibly immersive sense of fantasy and wonder. I want to say light-hearted bu that's not quite right. I don't know. I can't quite pinpoint what the quality these two share but man they're both something special.

Atmosphere and world-building are what I think The Legend of Zelda and Kingdom Hearts both do very well. Say what you will about their stories, combat, characters, etc. but they have such great senses of being in unique worlds to me.

yo idk what this says about me but one of my most visceral memories as a kid was watching the episode of this show where the red head dates this guy but he turns out to be the bad guy and it damages the friend's relationship. i was getting super emotionally invested and stuff. like it affected me. and then i listened to some weezer song.

i think what this says about me is literally everything about me
