I only played Smash once. Didn't really get into it. But then again I'd rather watch other people play games than play them myself.

In America? I kinda doubt it. NOA isn't exactly conscious of consumer wants as far as the systems go.

So, I've been at a con all day. There was a panel that was basically anime debates. I represented Madoka in a Madoka vs Sailor Moon, and things got heated. My arguments were basically that people like Sailor Moon out of nostalgia while Madoka is actually good.

Her: well, look at how popular Sailor Moon is? Did you see how many Sailor Moon cosplayers there are. How may Madoka cosplayers have you seen.

Me: well, if we're going off of popularity, Sword Art Online would be the greatest anime of all time.

The crowd lost their god damn minds. The girl I debated against had to get up and return to her seat after that.

But for real, I'm so glad the SAO hype has died down considerably.

Sailor Moon's a fine shoujo anime, but its only cultural impact was being the first one to hit the US (and whatever becomes popular in the US finds plenty of popularity in the rest of the world; see DBZ and Naruto and Bleach.)

Madoka on the other hand actually gives a ton of depth to the genre without ditching its main themes entirely. It's basically the Neon Genesis Evangelion of shoujo anime, which explains why it's not as popular as Sailor Moon; it's going to be divisive no matter how much better we find it.

This is the same company that refuses to sell the Gamepad separately outside of Japan (and only around three years after it launched)

lol there are no emulation issues on DS through New 3DS. If you want to play games on it that badly, get yourself an R4 that is compatible with emulation. I know some people think that's "wrong" or whatever, but truthfully its the easiest way to do anything in terms of backwards compatibility on ANY game console (portable or otherwise). Full backwards compatibility (through multiple generations) or an online Store that sells you "x" game from "y" previous system on that platform is almost never going to happen. At best you get shallow backwards compatibility or a small percentage of the emulated library.

Fact of the matter is, if any company that sells consoles/portables tells you that "x" isn't backwards compatible through traditional methods OR emulation, they are lying to you.

hurhur not condoning doing anything illegal, just spreading the good word of education. Pls no banerino

I just witnessed the most brilliant take down of a TedX talk conceivable. In an official TedX talk.
It' s all in French though, there' s no (decent) subtitles available yet.
