I had this with a memory stick. Wouldn't even let me delete anything/format it. Still not found a solution I'm afraid but if I do I'll let you know

Not even a few days into the new year and my New Year's resolution is already ruined. Needless to say, I'm incredibly pissed.

Getting mad over something as arbitrary as a resolution made due to a new span of written time is pointless, though what exactly is the situation?

Don't bother trying to explain that. I tried, didn't work.

I know you guys, especially you, Luxord, find it stupid. You've made that clear. Not so much the project, but that I get upset when my "body betrays me" when I lay down to watch something and don't even feel tired. Even the fail-safe method I had last night didn't save me. It's just something that's important to me. However, shortly after making that post, I got to thinking, and I happen to agree with you guys that it's useless to get mad.

I was also thinking that was really never a "rule" of the project. In the project, I record my last activity time before bed, but I never said the last activity times had to be intended--as in, if my last activity were 10:44 PM either because that's when I shut everything down, brushed my teeth, and went to bed or because I laid down to watch a TV program and fell asleep, it's still valid (and that's partly why I still counted unintended last activity times in my averages--it's also easier that way). So I guess I'll just stop caring about it. If I fall asleep unintentionally, then fine. It happens. People can think what they want with odd last activity times, particularly early ones like around 8:30 PM, but early morning ones as well. Like, if I'm not online for several hours and show as Away on Skype (I have it set so it shows as that after being idle for 15 minutes) because I unintentionally fell asleep, and then come online again for a few minutes around 2:00 AM, people can just think I was playing games or something.

Amaury, people leave all the time. I'm gone for about 8 hours a day and no one is upset because they know I'm busy. If they need me, they'll need me and since I check skype often when I can, I usually get back to them then say "I'm at work talk later" or something. Not everyone needs to know where you are 24/7. You're a responsible young adult. If you're really in trouble, someone will tell us, whether it's who you have on Facebook or someone on skype, or you. We care about you, but we're not officers. You don't report to us. It's OKAY if you fall asleep. That just means your body needs rest by itself. Let it shut down and you'll feel better in the morning.

The more I moved my shoulder at work, the better it felt. I still took it a bit easy but I made it through. And I got to leave like an hour early since there were two of us scheduled until four. I go in tomorrow and Thursday and then I'm off for 3 days.

Depending on the forecast, it could be busy or it could be slow. We'll see what happens.

This. It's also fairly unhealthy to compulsively have to track your activity like it is life or death. It should also be noted that if you aren't online for "x" amount of (normal) time, chances are nobody is going to think anything of it. I (nor do most people I would assume) don't track information like that on people, in fact most people might feel uncomfortable if they were tracked like that.

God forbid if something ever happens, and this site still exists at that time, chances are the information will make its way here one way or another. I'd worry more about putting that effort into other things. Not saying you aren't allowed to be this "detailed" about everything, especially if it is just for yourself. Just remember nobody is going to complain if you don't give us all the exact time codes of every time you do anything at all.

As I'm changing my ways, I am not writing this to defend, but rather just to clarify some points. I'm directing this to both you so I don't have to write several different writings.

It's not so much the fact that I'm not online because when in college, especially this quarter with three back-to-back classes and therefore no breaks in-between, I'm not always online or when I'm off somewhere, I'm not online, but just that I'm usually online all night in the later hours before 12:00 AM the next day, if that's what you meant, Luxord. So I've never been online 24/7, even when I was here all day every day for a while after finishing high school and then again after getting my GED, because sleep or I just got busy with other things.

I'm not constantly thinking about it, though. The only thing I do is record my activity time after marking the forums read by bringing up my member card when heading to bed or just bringing up my member card if I choose not to browse the forums after coming on from unintentionally falling asleep prematurely, so recording the exact time has never been a problem or stressful. I've always been interested in details, at least within the last few years, and it's why I did that Dragon Quest VIII project and am doing this Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits. Be kind of glad for that depending on how you would look at the fact that I would have been more weird if I had been like that when I was 14 and learned about a "certain something" and kept track of it from then onward, but nope.

But I digress. From now on I'm not gonna care, though when I did care, it was just mostly for myself, Only a small percentage was what others thought. If I fall asleep unintentionally and my last activity shows as 9:34 PM, then so be it.

I've heard whispers and legends assuring me my dad did cook in his life. That is an event I have yet to witness for myself. Whenever my mum wasn' t around he'd just take us to the restaurant. Not necessarily healthy ones, but none of us were overweight.

I'm told non junk food is pretty hard to come by in the US though. So if your parents lack the time/skill/motivation to cook properly ... yeah. By the way, I'm not sure surviving on spinach for a month is any healthier (or enjoyable), variety is key. Have you tried speaking up ? You could try suggesting a place with a bigger array of food. Or you know, pass on the pizza and skulk the fridge to find your own meal.[DOUBLEPOST=1452065012][/DOUBLEPOST]

I just cook for myself if I'm not good with the food. Rude? Sure? Hungry for something I'm ok with? Not anymore.

i don't really have a normal household/family dynamic but i've been grocery shopping and cooking for myself since I was like 16 or 17.

edit I realize that sounds weird and braggy it's not meant to be just like
it is possible to cook for yrself if you have like your own money and transportation and junk. if that would cause **** with yr family you could always say like "oh I'll cook tonight" or just offer to make a side dish or something

@The Grinch, I have no idea what you're talking about at all because I don't follow your activity thread. From what I gather, by your body betraying you, you mean that you're falling asleep before you'd like, usually without being tired? That sounds like a medical issue to me. Either your body is telling you to go to sleep earlier out of some scheduling conditioning or lack of sleep or you might actually have a medical issue. It could be medication, if you're on any (I know with my mom's combination of meds, she can't sleep past six am so she goes to bed earlier to make sure she gets enough sleep, for instance.) Regardless, I think it's something you should look into (I am basing this entirely from knowing your body is "betraying" you often. Like I said, I don't really know any more than that).

If you look at my thread, you should quickly understand how it works. I record the time of my last activity before going to bed each night. If my last activity for the night is on January 1 at 11:51 PM, then I'll state that for January 1 I went to bed on January 1 at 11:51 PM. If my last activity for the night is on January 2 at 2:44 AM, then I'll state that for January 1 I went to bed on January 2 at 2:44 AM.

In any case, it's certainly not a medical issue. It's not like I'm walking along and suddenly drop down sleeping. I kind of over-dramatize it, and @♥♦♣♠Luxord♥♦♣♠ can vouch for me there. What happens is I'll lay down to watch something in the evening/at night anywhere between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM and the next thing I know I'm waking up anywhere between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM for whatever reason, and this seems to always happen, though only when I've fallen asleep prematurely. I don't feel tired, but perhaps my body does. Even during the day that happens sometimes. Just about every day in English 102 class fall quarter I'd always feel tired and start falling asleep, but it's just because I was bored. Just like today in Philosophy 101, we were watching a film and my eyes kept drooping. My mom says the same thing happens to her when she wants to watch something.

So it's not that my body is betraying me, that's just that what I've been calling it,

At a certain age, Mom let me try my hand at cooking. She started me off on easy things. Pasta, baked chicken, pot roast. Usually things that really don't require a lot of prep work. And I love it when I can cook. And I admit that I make a pretty mean rack of ribs.

It's a great life skill to have even if you're not planning on going to culinary school. And if my room mate/ significant other doesn't know how to cook, then they are learning. I'm not waiting on a grown ass person who is more than capable of feeding themselves.

Growing up, there'd be food available. If we didn't like what was prepared, we'd either go to bed hungry or we'd be on our own. For example, I'm not the biggest fan of chili since there's a lot of beans and I don't really like the texture. So I make my own thing.
