Dude, add in losing 12 ranked League matches in a row and it was not a very enjoyable weekend. Thankfully both his computer and mine are working well.

But I want to burn that graphics card his dad had now. And axe it.

 

Glad you got them sorted. What was wrong with the gpu? Just curious.
The only part I had trouble with when putting mine together was the CPU cooler, i've never installed an aftermarket one before. That and installing the mobo but that's just because I'm ****ing terrible at putting in the IO shield

 

My friend got the computer from his dad, who he said overclocked something and caused the computer to no longer display anything.

I sold him my old CPU, GPU, and motherboard. Everything else stayed the same. We managed to get the system running soon after all of that was installed.

I'm guessing his dad overclocked the GPU to the point where something in it got fried which ruined that motherboard, and then ruined mine when I put that GPU in my system.

CPU coolers are pretty easy I've learned; stock ones at least. I had no clue what to do with my liquid cooling system beside planting the block on my CPU. Didn't have much issue with putting my replacement motherboard in.

This reminds me that I might want to post in that PC thread I made...

That feeling when I can't tell if my professor is really encouraging and supportive because she's my professor or if I'm really that good.

That's weird, I assumed GPU overclocking was controlled by the mobo but I dunno.

Stock coolers are, in my experience, pretty easy. I have a Hyper 212 Plus and just... could not figure out the mount. It turns out you had to be surprisingly forceful to screw it down. I was being pretty delicate with everything so that frightened me.

I should really write up my build diary though, I took pics and everything. Would love to read about and see some pics of yrs

i mean yeah sure but we're both really busy and all of our plans fell through over the weekend so i dont think it would come across well (and i dont know if we're close enough for that to be appropriate yet. would like to think we are but i dont know if she does). plus shes always super focused on her work and i dont want to be the person who distracts another person from school. not yet anyway

ahhh I feel you. but generally speaking, people like hearing that ish and I think it's important to establish in a relationship that like... you don't really care if yr just wasting time together, you just want to be together

 

we sort of have. its just frustrating that our schedules don't allow more time. plus the campus is dense so there are few opportunities to be alone in the quiet. i'm in that annoying place of not knowing how much interaction is too much for them. i don't want to come off as annoying.

 

Well, there are different ways to overclock the GPU, with the one I'm most familiar with being software that you download, but I don't overclock anyway, so I'm not well researched on it.

Yeah, the stock cooler is easy. Aftermarket, you might need the manual so you don't screw it up.

ahh I feel that. It definitely takes time and I still worry sometimes that i'm bugging my boyfriend too much, but we've established that we're both needy and obsessed with each other and want to hang out every day

it's a ***** being in school and having a relationship too, I feel that. idk your campus but it's nice to just chill outside and do some homework together sometimes
