Is Skype not connecting for anyone else?

I only got around to this yesterday & I think every single one of my avatars has been a variation on the same theme for the last two years haha whoops

I was having this problem too!! It just connected for me.

 

Still not connected for me, but oddly enough, an alert that you were online popped up, though the actual status circle showed you as offline.

Are you a ghost, Stardust? ;)

 

um that is REALLY strange lol

 

It's a problem with Skype itself, they're having network difficulties iirc. Some people recommended not logging out though, since it could be really difficult to actually get back in.

 

Unfortunately, I had no idea. :x I log out every night as I turn my computer off, and it was working then.

Skype isn't working for me either. Damn it, I had role-play planning to do.
Now I guess I'll go...start my classes or get my brakes changed. Ugh, productivity.

What's odd is that despite no contacts showing up, Stardust appearing offline, and me appearing online, but away, to Stardust, we were able to IM each other.

Are they even working on fixing the Skype issue? :x

On a related, note, it popped up saying @Sabby was online, but the circle was offline, just like with Stardust.

Edit: Seems to be fixed, but I guess we'll see.

 

Re: Skype issues

• Apparently the web based client still works for those who want to bother.
  
• You can still one on one chat with each other even if you both appear off-line.
• You are still connected even if you are offline.
• Maybe Microsoft will finally update the Mac version. [ Never going to happen. ]
• They are apparently working on resolving the issue according to Skype's Heartbeat. Business users weren't affected. In other words, only non-paying users had the issue.

 

That would explain why Stardust and I were able to chat. You just don't know who's online is all.

Also, I take back my edit in my last post. It "disconnected" again. Come on, Skype! This has never happened before!

 

Only way to know for sure is to message them, I guess.

 

You can never go wrong with more Mega Man. It's not like there's a surplus of Mega Man anywhere.
