So, my raw manga site has been taken down and I am like worlds ahead of the published chapter updates on all of the regular manga sites and idk what to do because it will be literally forever before they are caught up and there are some mange that are new and only have a few chapters and haven't been picked up by translation groups yet. // sobs //

Really? I feel like Battle of the Gods was kinda awful period and moreso in comparison because this one was pretty not awful to me. It had much less fighting in it and there was essentially no distinct thread of plot to follow and no character exploration or commentary. Conversely this one was almost all fighting, the plot had a sequence of events as opposed to just one messy jumble, and they actually showed and told about Goku and Vegeta's flaws and showed progress between them (yes, homo). And I wouldn't start on padding when you're saying it was better in the movie where they have kids breaking into raffle prizes and a dance routine burn more than 10% of the total screen time, but hey maybe you like that.

I'm certain Battle of the Gods in fact did not have more character representation, at the very least in more than a background capacity. Because yes, they had a bunch of people there, but they did nothing. Just sat there not even being fully animated or the most part.

That said, this is a pair of action flicks so I am not expecting much out of either or asking for a dialogue about it, just thought the polar opposite takeaway was pretty weird.

To be honest, I completely forgot about the Pilaf part...

In contrast with Resurrection F, I enjoyed all of the character interactions there were in Battle of Gods, minor as some were, especially Buu and Beerus.

As I said, Resurrection F definitely had more fights, but I didn't care what was going on for most of them, because they were cannon fodder battles until Freeza showed up, whilst in Resurrection F the only fights were really against Beerus who I loved seeing on the screen, both because of his power and his personality.

But you're right that Resurrection F had more character development for Goku and Vegeta. I did appreciate that, but I still think the ending was genuinely annoying and frustrating.

Both are definitely flawed, as is the entire series, but I can honestly say I really enjoy both of them.

The ending was actually one of the things I liked because someone went to the literary device department and got a four for one deal on Chekhov guns and no one likes a good deal more than me.

Speaking of Dragonball, Syfy's been advertising Evolution. I've been watching the Sharknado series all afternoon because of lack of anything else.

And I'm just kind of... James Marsters in green face paint. I have think he was in it for the paycheck tbh.

I like Vegeta more than Goku is all.

It's leaked so quality isn't great. The quality of the actual video isn't horrible, actually. One of the better leaks, I've seen, but almost half of it is cut off. Audio's not bad at all, though. Might end up seeing an official one soon since that's what usually happens (though not with Fox).

Oh, alright, thanks. I'll just wait for the official one then. Shouldn't take long considering the last few leaks of trailers.

Batman, Inc. #1... I think Morrison has a pretty good handle on Japanese culture.

Person A: I liked this thing.

Person B: That's cool but here's a 12 page essay on why you shouldn't like it. Double spaced. 12 point Times New Roman font with half-inch margins.

Person A: I still like the thing.

the genius of American Idiot lies in Jesus of Suburbia being a summation of everything that character is, Homecoming being everything that remains after he's been torn down, and the in between being how he got from the american teenager utterly convicted in his naivete to the humbled blank slate of broken optimism, a little calmer and a little wiser. both songs approx 10 minutes long each lock the story of the album between with the two songs on either sides of Jesus and Homecoming, American Idiot and Whatsername respectively, putting us directly into the mind of this character showing us what tempers him before and after his adventure. in standard middle-act fashion, jesus is at his lowest in Give Me Novocaine, which has four songs between it and both Jesus of Suburbia and Homecoming. In Novocaine, jesus is addressing someone who remains unknown until the end of the song, st. jimmy. the song directly before Novocaine is St Jimmy, in which the coping mechanism in the form of a drug-supplying alternate persona's explosive introduction is made with a vigorous energy rivaled by only one other song on the album, She's a Rebel, the song directly after Novocaine. She's a Rebel introduces whatsername, jesus's temporary companion and only other form of reprieve from his horrible situation in addition to st jimmy. the two songs following She's a Rebel briefly explore their brief companionship arriving at the conclusion that these two are totally incompatible despite similar situations, which mirror Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Are We the Waiting, the two songs before St. Jimmy which show how incompatible Jesus is with the life he's chosen. the songs on either side of these two pairs of songs, placing them right after and right before Jesus of Suburbia and Homecoming, are the two most tonally polarized songs on the album. The enthusiastic excitement of making the bold decision to leave home in search of nothing in Holiday, and the somber acceptance of personal failures in Wake Me Up When September Ends (strangely the two songs I like least on the album). ****ing. genius. I could go on and on about this album and all of this is just about the structure of it. in the words of a wise man, "...because I love [Idiot] so much I **** it."

    i think you mean

I mostly liked all the visual effects. There was so much detail especially when they gained their abilities. (and they looked awesome)

If only they made music that I didn't feel completely apathetic to. Which is admittedly my own problem, but I still feel left out and want to voice that.

So...what about the acting? The writing? The directing? The score? The cinemtography? The themes presented?

Fair enough. I don't understand your vehement distaste for them. I can understand just not caring about them, but every time I bring them up you echo my unapologetic fanaticism with venomous disdain. This makes sense to me when it comes from someone born and bred in the politically-fueled anti-establishment movement of 70's uk punk (at leas this makes sense before American Idiot), but you don't have that. I don't care if you like them or not, I just find it a little perplexing how adamantly anti-Green Day you are. and like I said, fair enough, I just don't understand why. For anyone unfamiliar with their music I would suggest starting with their later stuff, 2000 and later, and slowly working your way back to their early stuff. Their later stuff is more accessible until you get to the Trilogy but not at all a complete departure from their early work.

and i love ya for it
