Try cutting the music next time. Reading will get you drowsy but that kind of music keeps you awake.
When it happens to me I just look for ASMR vids matching my triggers. I doesn' t always work but it' s worth a shot.

Except I wasn't feeling tired when all I had was the white noise from my fan and that usually helps. I tried some low-key ambient music and that also didn't work. So I hit some kind of **** everything point.

I have 1 or 2 nights a month where I just can't sleep. Suspect the upcoming full moon has something to do with it.

If it only happens once or twice a month, it isn't that big of a deal (not trying to belittle what you are going through, but coming from someone who has gone several days with no sleep, this isn't as bad as it may seem). That being said, the best way to prevent this would be the usual "stuff" doctors suggest whenever any problem arises (those things being exercise, maintaining a normal sleep schedule, good stress management, healthy diet, etc). All of those things help, trust me. Well it worked for me at least.

I keep trying to sort out my thoughts on Kill la Kill to no avail. I know I should have problems with it, that it is creepy and rape-y and exploitative but holy **** i love it

I honestly thought it was going to be some fanservicey schlock, but I was pleasantly surprised. Plus they took the point of one of my most hated episodes of Gurren Lagaan, that dumb bathhouse recap episode, and shortened it to like the opening three minutes with Senketsu explaining really fast all to the William Tell Overture and I knew I loved this show.

    Also, I found this:

Only the first meeting of Ryuuko and Senketsu was "creepy and rape-y," but like...how else would you have shown that he's a schoolgirl uniform that needs blood to power-up?

No wait, there was Ragyo too, but the point of that was that she is exploitative to the max.

Also I'll argue with anyone who doesn't think it's an awesome empowerment series.

I have no desire to watch Kill La Kill.
But like...do the clothes watch from the floor during sex?

Oh I generally have positive feelings about it, that might be because I love it so much and I'm inclined to defend it, but I think it's a really powerful story about teaming up to fight not only Ragyo but their own personal demons too.

The scenes that mostly disturb me are the ones with Mako's dad, particularly the first. After the first few episodes it's kind of a non-thing and I actually think it's an alright gag in the No-Late Day episode and the Fight Club one, but they can cross a line sometimes. Senketsu's introduction is creepy but, I mean, in a series like Kill la Kill it's pretty tame imo. And yeah, the Ragyo thing was meant to be gross and disturbing.

There's the inherent issue of the outfits that I know some just can't overlook but I kind of enjoy them as a sort of parody of hyper-sexualized women in anime. That said, Kill la Kill does benefit from it. It's just... very complicated. But I do love Kill la Kill, it's been very hard to sort out my thoughts on it.

klk is a "good" show I guess, but just like ttgl it's not to my tastes. Satsuki is a good character and I can appreciate the sister dynamic but beyond that I don't really care. just like most anime. I'm more and more becoming hyper-selective with what anime/manga I consume. I just don't think most of it is worthwhile at all.

I've been pricing stuff for this garage sale that's happening Thursday through Saturday. I never want to do this ever again. because I'm convinced hell is the inside of a garage.

The internet rules are that you only win if the opponent admits defeat or ceases to continue the fight.

Try it in an Arizona summer ;>

    @Captain Rogers
Thought your image was broken, Cap. But I see it now. Yeah, that's pretty close.

It wasn't hot. So I concede that you have a point. Just a lot of bugs. For some reason, the dragonflies were going nuts.

Is Blighttown just the worst designed area of a game ever, or do I have a personal vendetta?
