Does anybody know how can one deal with the anxiety/nerves of streaming? I tried asking some of my friends because I'm still going with my idea of a music-related stream (More with a music section on Twitch). Even if I know not a lot people/Only people I know will watch in the beginnings, it still kind of scares me being live in the case I do grow a fanbase in one of the scenarios.

I got some interesting responses as "Just do it and you'll see how you handle it" and "Take on the same mentality as you take as playing Fighting Games with strangers", but I'll leave this here in case anyone wants to add something else.

i really, really hope the show does not devolve into sex/gender quips
i cringed at the few bits in the trailer like that. like the lesbian thing. as soon as she started wording it like she did i immediately thought that they would go where they did. What was the point of that? funny? it wasn't. to show how progressive they are? being progressive is great, but gratuitously drawing attention to what you're doing is not how you make any kind of thought-provoking, intellectual statement, or get people who may be against your show (or whatever) on board. The way you do that stuff is just be awesome while you're telling a good story.

The few times I've streamed I've found easier to have someone with me, either in the text chat or in a Skype call (and streaming that with the game). It removes some of the pressure from you and takes you just a little bit out of the spotlight, compared to if it was just exclusively you there driving the interest/conversation.

I get quite nervous in a lot of social interactions and really it's something that just fades as you get accustomed to it. For a while before & after my boyfriend like officially got together I used to feel constantly nauseous, especially around him, I used to shake/shiver violently before doing podcasts, and so on. For me it's always just faded with time. The trick is just taking that first dive. After that, it gets easier.

Thanks a lot Misty, I guess you are all right and I have to get to it (Which I will soon). :3

For the first stream I have the idea of me streaming an already-done cover or track and talking about how I've worked around it and stuff.

So my niece has strep throat. Which I'm kind of thinking she's had in varying degrees since Easter. Kind of good news in that she doesn't need her tonsils out even if they were to the point of almost touching last I heard.

But she's had at least one round of antibiotics so at least she's getting treatment.

Not with streaming, no. But I have anxiety issues and definite social issues. Together, it's a mess. I mean, it's actually one of the reasons I smoked a lot of weed in high school and early years of college (that's not my recommendation, though). I mean, talking to anybody that I wasn't close to terrified the living hell out of me. I took a speech class and it didn't help; the only reason I even got through that class was because there was one more person who was worse than me. When I became a cashier at work, it was horrble being forced to talk to people. As a trainer, I had to talk to the district's new employees every orientation, which was every Monday. The class ranged from 4 to 12 people and my part wasn't longer than ten minutes; I came out shaking and sweating with my heart racing.

The only thing that helped me was actually being a cashier. After a few months of having to talk to hundreds of people a day, most of them customers I saw on a day-to-day basis (and the fact that Panera puts a huge emphasis on customer/employee relationship which made me start by faking being sociable), I became much more comfortable talking to strangers and it's made me a lot more outgoing as a person. Hell, I left a job where I knew everyone to one where I knew no one but the manager who hired me and it only took a few days for me to come out of my shell.

tl;dr: just throw yourself out there. The experience helps.

Freshman dressed up as Ash Ketchum stormed through campus buildings and screams "Screw getting my PhD, I'm becoming a Pokemon Master!"

And our school doesn't even offer PhD programs. classic freshman...

3 episodes in and Daredevil is far and away the best thing Marvel's put on screen
it makes me borderline dislike the films. this is what i've been looking for. this is what interests me in Marvel. this is why i'm mad that Spider-Man's getting the Avengers movie treatment and not the street-level, serialized story, season-binging experience that i want from the character and that is appropriate for him.

funny story. before watching this episode I had just finished reading an early issue in Bendis' run where Urich gives a speech to his boss very similar to the one he gave in this episode. i wonder if there were thinking about that issue when they wrote it.

The thing I like about Spider-Man (Ok, one of the things) is that he can fit in both big, world-changing events like Avengers situations a la Civil War, as well as the down-to-earth urbanized stories. He's strong and fast, but he's still easy to hurt.

But the whole point of Spider-Man stories is to examine Peter Parker and the relationships he has, mostly out of the costume, and to see how he grows and learns from his mistakes and stuff. He's one of the most personal and relatable characters I can think of, and putting him in the avengers takes away from that because his character's not the focus and he's pretty much only there bc he's the face of marvel. that's why I don't like Avengers and most team books other than Wolfman's and Johns' Teen Titans. I'm not saying that you can't tell good stories with spider-man in the avengers, but it's not the stuff i like and it feels so very counter to what Spider-Man is in my head. basically everything i just said also applies to daredevil. i will be ****ing livid if DD finds his way into an avengers movie (probably unlikely but still)
and i realize the only reason Spider-Man getting movies is bc he sells. but it still stinks.

If memory serves the one chapter I read back when I was a kid that had Daredevil in it had him team up with Spidey against Kingpin. Or was it Juggernaut ? My memory is really blurry on that one. Can' t remember either if it was legit Spidey or Spider Woman or alternate Spidey something but it was in the late 80s/early 90s.

So apparently the universe doesn't want me to eat Indian food. Second Indian restaurant I've gotten a slight sickness from eating from.
