Today, I spent 60 dollars on office supplies and I think I accidentally stole a thing of paper clips.

Well, I already put the receipt away in a folder, but I'll look at it later. I mean, the alarm sensor didn't go off when I left. But I distinctly remember grabbing only one (because I almost didn't get it after getting a stapler and tape, but I went back for it) and I only had a few different things; I know only remember scanning one at the self-check out (I organized my bags by what's mine, for my roommates, and what the supplies are for), but it's possible that I didn't realize what I was scanning and scanned another one? I don't know. When I took it out of the bag, the packs were kind of stuck together so maybe I scanned both at once thinking it was just one, but I thought scanners had like a half-second delay? Oh well, guess I needed 310 paper clips...

Okay, officially concerned about myself.

I keep spacing out of reality and into my little world (Not fully but most of my mind wanders off into it) and keep thinking of my dream of making that goddamn fighting game I always wanted to make, but I know I can't because economical reasons where I live and barely any careers that support it here.

I MEAN GOSH I JUST WANT A NORMAL JOB BUT I CAN'T KEEP MY HEART FROM MY MIND.

I mean, it happens everytime I listen to a cool song (Or a cool riff to begin with), and think "Oh dear this would fit this character I made so well! And his gameplay was again like..." and then it goes on and on.

Something tells me I was born with a creative mind... And that scares me, a lot, for some reason.

tl;dr the eternal "Ideal vs real" inner debate.

No but really. I kind of find myself do the same thing with this story I'm supposed to be working on. I just imagine possible different scenarios and how character A would react in a given situation versus how character B would. And how different characters would interact and what this place looks like.

All those fun little world building and character development things.

Oh, and I suppose plot elements too. Those are important.

 

You can always make a dream a reality. Just believe in the you that believes in yourself!

Being creative shouldn't scare you. If you really want to make this game, then go for it. Obviously you should be grounded in reality first and you need to analyze your own situation and try to fit it in properly. For example I'm currently developing a game engine for a game that I want to make. I'm currently balancing that with school, work and other projects so it isn't my first priority but even doing a little work is a step in the right direction. Start small and grow from there. My game started from a bunch of random notes that I just started fleshing out more and more. All creative projects take time, especially games, so don't feel like you have to do everything now. Spread it out and do it at your own pace. The destination might be cool but really it's the journey that's ****ing awesome.

 

Dude, I go through this every day.
