Many thanks, I really appreciate it. I can keep you guys updated if need be. Right now I am pretty "okay", mostly because I know I need to focus on school (literally no other option than to dedicate a % of my energy to that, you guys can probably understand). But yeah, when I hear more about this I'll be sure to post about it here.

    Thanks for the support.

It's why I don't really mind that the forums are slow rn (kh lulls and all), everybody in spam nowadays is the people who have been here for ages and we all kinda know each other and care about each other, at least i do, so yeah I like keeping updated with you guys lol. not in a creepy way I just feel like khv is a little family (not to say that new people can't join in too)

Sending my support too! I would never read your posts and think "stupid" so I think that's unfair to yourself. I hope things improve!

    Thanks guys <3

Well, at least according to my doctor / the various tests I have to take, the main problems I suffer from since the accident are: Seizures (which I take meds for, obvs), pain (which I get treatment for every 3 months via injections into my head/neck), and memory/the ability to concentrate like a "normal" person.

Now don't get me wrong, right after the accident happened, the worst part was the seizures hands down. Mine aren't the "generic" kind where i end up having convulsions (to put lightly, I don't flop around like a fish), but rather I suffered from (not fun) hallucinations/losses of time. These were triggered by stress, fatigue, etc like normal seizures. Unfortunately however while I remained conscious during these seizures I would tend to get very...angry? I am very ashamed of it, but if you take a look at my attitude a few years back (when I wasn't on medication for my seizures, we didn't find one that worked at the time). While I was conscious (moments before I would "lose time"/hallucinate) I was very angry for seemingly no reason, my posts reflected that very well. Lol just ask staff.

To explain the whole "loss of time" stuff... Imagine you were sitting at your computer playing a game, and you are under stress from your day, the game, and having the injuries I have. All of a sudden you "snap" back into consciousness and you are either not where you remember you were, or time itself has moved by a significant amount. Sometimes I would essentially be a zombie for 30 minutes at a time, however most of the time it was just small bursts going in and out of consciousness. This was scary as fuck and extremely stressful at the time. Luckily the doctors are suppressing pretty much all of the triggers that causes these seizures. The injections keep the pain from my injury pretty much non existent until I need my next round of injections, the anti-seizure meds (tegretol in case anyone is curious) do the rest.

EDIT: the reason the loss of time / hallucination combo was really bad was that:

sometimes when I would think that I came back to consciousness I would just be hallucinating and I was still in that "loss of time". This is really hard to describe, so I'll just give an example.

One my worst episodes was when I was laying down in bed and I thought to myself: "hey I should go to the bathroom", so i got up and went to the bathroom, by the time I was there I "snapped out of it". I was in my bed the whole time, I never got up. Then that process repeated itself for like 30 min to an hour.

You could imagine how much of a toll that could have on your mind. Explains how I was an emotional time bomb pretty much. I feel bad for my friends/loved ones during that time. Dealing with me must have been hell on earth.

tl;dr I thought with my current "treatment" that I was normal again, apparently not. Not that normal matters, but yeah you get my point.

Just read this and I'm currently going through the other post and oh Gosh I'm so sorry this had to happen in the first place.

I'm just... At a loss for words, I DO know how the "Loss of time" stuff is like given my father has Alzheimer and that's how he started (By losing himself in time/space), but let's not injcect my personal stuff too much into this conversation, k?

Anyways, I'm sorry, I'll shut it now but know that I'm listening with the deepest respect for you. .-.

This sounds a lot like the seizures I had back in grade school. I'd be focusing on what my teachers or whoever were saying and then I'd kind of like...'zone out' and come back like 5 - 10 minutes later with rapid blinking. So I kind of understand where you're coming from. I don't think I ever got angry, more confused feeling because I just lost 5 - 10 minutes with no explanation.

Mine was a actual seizure disorder that I grew out of while taking medication(depakote) while being closely monitored by doctors. I was in a hospital once every other week seems like having blood drawn or wires being glued onto my head. ( Which I thought was the coolest thing ever lol ). Yours kind of sounds like it was triggered by your accident.

tl;dr I know where you're coming from and you have my support. I hope things get better for you.

I was trying to steer clear of that topic for fear of saying something wrong or being redundant, but I do hope things work out, Princess. As apparent by this thread still existing, khv's a good place to talk w/ people you at least kind of know and get stuff of your chest.

i could be doing hw rn but instead i'm being productive

    @Fearless @Ghost
so i'm watching Zexal and trying to remember if the duels in each previous series were as contrived and convenient as they are here. I mean I know that's always been a thing in ygo shows, and that's part of what makes them entertaining, but it seems much more prominent in Zexal. it's like.. oh.. yuma saved himself with half unbreak.. again.. and everyone always has a card to negate effect damage. like they saw that coming five turns ago even though they knew nothing about the person they were playing against and were so shocked when they summoned whatever. i get that the card game in the shows functions very differently than the one irl but it's very glaring how impossible it all is. but I'm really enjoying myself. despite the seemingly lazy duel choreography, the show suddenly started doing some interesting, unexpected things even after being fairly good for 90+ eps. and it's somehow managing to subvert expectations. a yugioh show. there have been one or two times recently where i thought "did i just get faked out by ygo???"

My best best friend' s dad had brain damage when I was a teen. It wasn' t a car crash, it was medical. An aneurysm or something. By the time his wife realized he wasn' t waking up and brought him to the hospital the damage had already started. He bounced back though. Slowly, the first year was painful to watch. Then his son kinda died and I kinda moved, but I still see him every now and then and he' s spectacular now. I mean, he does take things a bit slower than before, but he' s functional and got his memory back. I think it took him five years to get back to work.

You say it' s been years for you already so I get why it would be a bummer, but just because they failed to register progress on one front doesn' t mean you haven' t progressed at all. You write pretty coherent posts, when they' re not spam I mean. The thought you might have a mental problem never crossed my mind. So yeah, just focus on school right now, these things take time. And don' t feel too bad about that money, it' s meant for you. Insurance ya know ? As in reassuring ? One thing less to worry about ? That' s usually why people subscribe in the first place. It' s a cane, not a license to give up.

Have the doctors made you train your memory ? I guess school already does that to some extent, but I know there are more specific exercises around.

What was it that you didn't like about Zexal? Because 3/4 of the way in, I feel like I can say it's bad reputation is almost entirely undeserved. I think a lot people saw the younger designs and mistook that for the show being targeted at a younger demographic (and not realizing that it's already a kid's show), so they went in ready to be either appalled or disappointed. Of course when you compare it to it's predecessor it doesn't stand up, but that's because 5D's was awesome. But putting it up against GX and DM, there's no real noticeable quality difference on the whole imo, in fact, I would dare say Zexal is better. I know those are fighting words to some (nostalgia is a powerful thing), but just looking at each show individually, I'd say this is at worst on-par and at best exceptional. You don't have to like it, I'm just curious.

I don't think she meant that in a 'i hate zexal' way. I think she meant it in a 'this show will rip out your heart and crush it and make you have the feels' sort of way.
