What's wrong with Leto or Robbie?

so you're not surprised in the least that Jared Leto was cast as the Joker. The Joker. The DC comics villain. Jared. Leto. In their new continuity.

No, I'm not. Jared Leto has proven that he can act well. I already had my perfect Joker: a cartoon voiced by Mark Hamill. I'm open to interpretations of him, hence why I like Heath Ledger's and Jack Nicholson's.

I don't see what the last part of this post has to do with anything, unless you still think i'm coming at this from a negative standpoint, rather than the surprised neutral that I am.

 

Why is it "But"?

That last part means that I'm not surprised to see Leto as Joker because I've seen at least four differing performances of the character, so I'm not sure why there's so much surprise.

 

Okay, with Margot Robbie it's less an issue of the actor and more an issue of "Does anyone on the planet even have the capability to BE Harley Quinn, or are we just going to get a watered down version with slight similarities to any of the Harley Quinn's that we know?"

Leto, I have an issue with, partially for the same reason and partially because he just doesn't seem, to me at least, to be the kind of person to play The Joker. He feels like more of a Deadpool, or something. A more serious character. The problem I had with TDK Joker was that his "crazy scary 2edgy4everyone" villainous acts didn't feel insane. They just felt, the maybe the exception of blowing up hospitals, to be violent for the sake of violence. Also the boats. The boats were kinda crazy, but I expected Saw crazy and got GTA crazy. It just feels like this casting, or maybe even just this scripting of The Joker will be the same thing.

 

In response, all I can say is that I'll reserve judgement for when I see the movie.

I've seen actors whom I thought would do bad jobs actually pull off great performances, and I've seen actors whom I had always trusted to do well instead disappoint the shit out of me.

Like I said about the Joker, I'm able to easily enjoy different versions of him. I'll always have The Animated Series and Arkham Asylum/City Joker.

 

I'll save my judgment too, but I won't be one of the people dancing in the street at the news.

 

I....don't know anyone who does that without actually seeing at least a trailer that shows some acting in it. I'm kind of glad I don't either.

 

Ugh, my mom!

We have to go to my aunt's sometime tomorrow for hay that's being dropped off for the horses, and because the roads will be slippery tomorrow, my mom doesn't want me taking the freeway, but the highway instead.

She keeps telling me it's not me, but the other idiots, which I believe, BUT I can watch out for them. I drive safely on slippery roads!

 

I meant that figuratively, but whatever.

Oh boy, imagine if maybe you weren't the only person on the road, and, try as hard as you like, drive as carefully as you like, you can't actually control how other people drive, and imagine if listening to your mother was maybe actually possibly a good idea. Imagine that.

 

What the hell did I do?

 

I get it. If the car gets wrecked, whether it's with me or her, we won't have one or be able to get a new one this good. In addition, we know our car inside and out. It has little quirks here and there, such as the signal switch not working properly when using the right turn signal, but it has no major mechanical issues. But still.

I feel as if you're missing the entire point of what I'm saying.
