my Mantine has Blizzard but I wanted something a little more reliable

Also, I feel like I should add that I don't think these games are as good as most people seem to. The story here is sorely lacking, even by Pokemon standards. I'm not saying that Johto's a badly designed region, but these games (gen II and their remakes) seem to be revered by many as the best Pokemon games, and I'm starting to think that comes solely from nostalgia.

Eh, the game's actual plot is weak (along with, honestly, most of the Pokemon games' main plots) but the lore around the Legendaries is really what I love, and the fact that the story really does feel like a direct continuation of Red/Green/Blue's story, which only Black/White had the same experience with. Also, lots of great designs, though of course that's not an exclusive trait.

I know you guys keep telling me I have a good history teacher because he's not blinding me with "go america" points of view but HE'S BREAKING MY SENSE OF REALITY AND I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE.

How am I supposed to function in a country where we have the illusion of a free market? How the hell am I able to stomach the idea of, "Sure, we'll let cities go to ruin, so long as we're getting more money making our products in another country" ?

I knew I was going to hit some sort of breaking point but dear god. I am going to have to go the rest of my life knowing this and having to deal with it because I am not a company, I am a lower-middle class female with an average testing score and I have no particular skill that is going to get me far.

Break me down more or build me back up but we're about to start Anarcho-capitalism.

 

They are teaching that in your school? What is this mystical place?

(I actually got invited to speak at a school on Anarchism once. Didn't work out.)

They decided not to do it for some reason and cancelled at the last minute.

Was pretty relieving, to be honest. High school kids are not very intelligent on average.

It's like you want me to hate Laurel.

Stop making her so damn annoying. You reveal her Black Canary uniform, give me hope, and then...you put her in a scene.

That is literally all it takes for her to ruin the scene: just being in it.

I'll give you the trick arrow of the week, but come on, let's make Laurel enjoyable.

 

I haven't watched the episode yet, but I did see the costume. I hate that I like it more than Sarah's. We knew from the beginning that Laurel becoming Black Canary was obligatory, but the show has done so little in the way of making us care about Laurel that for this continuity it they would have been better off killing Laurel and keeping Sarah. The only reason she got the costume was because her name is Dinah. And she doesn't even go by that. I get that having a purpose, an enemy, and something to hit could be therapeutic for her considering everything she's been through, so maybe they'll finally start doing something interesting with her, but the bulk of the responsibility is on the actress for making us enjoy the character, and I don't think she has it in her. Even when the writing for her character is not bad, she manages to make every moment excruciating by being on screen.

 

You guys keep giving me more incentive to never start Arrow.
