I finished soul eater earlier today and man, that was so much fun. This (manga spoilers kinda) has to be one of my favorite designs for anything ever. it's just so. ****ing. cool. And that's pretty much my opinion on soul eater. It's so dang cool. Soul Eater is beautiful all around. The art is gorgeous (kinda weird at first) and the designs are awesome. The last few chapters were kinda weird and I may do some reading up to erase any confusion, because the solution to the major conflict is.. odd. Not bad, I really like it, it's just so impractical that I can't believe it actually happened lol. I'm seriously considering buying the manga in the future, mainly because it's only 25 volumes and I like it enough to buy it, but also because the translations online are inconsistent in quality and sometimes abysmal, and reading an official translation would clear some things up.

I started watching the anime tonight because I wasn't ready to be done with SE. The English dub is very very nice and the animation is gorgeous. I just don't like watching anime. Sitting and watching something is so goddamn boring.

I also started reading Terror of Trigon and Deadman Wonderland.

And I'm not sure why, but I don't usually have this problem to this extent when watching things that aren't anime.
What is it that you don't like about reading? I don't prefer watching things because I like having total control over the pace that I experience the story, and I like seeing the art in comics. Maybe it's just a natural gravitation.

 

I pretty much like animation because I prefer the opposite: I want the story I'm experiencing to be directed instead of just put in front of me, because I'm a far bigger fan of film than of literature, where I sometimes feel like I put too much focus on one part. I want to see good pacing and color, and hear fitting music and sound effects and voices.

Not to say I don't like books though, just that I'm more prone to enjoying an animation.

 

Dracula Untold was alright

It was very good.
Ending was kinda cliché, but whatever.
SFX were great, and a few scenes really stood out because of them.
Only problem is there's a scene that SHOULD HAVE been sad, but because of either no character development or a lack of writing, what should have been a "NO!" scene turned into an "Aw, that's kinda sad" scene.
Combat choreography was sometimes great and at times I found myself thinking "well with his new powers, he could a done that both better and cooler".

8/10 would pay for bluray disk from store.

still have to watch a bunch of stuff i have recorded (The Flash, Gracepoint, gotta catch up with S2 of Arrow) but overall the things i love are SO much more satisfying this year than they were last year

 

So Transformers 1 is on TV right now and as I'm watching it, I discovered that the blonde chick Sam dates in the 3rd movie is a support character in the 1st one. I never realized ... and I thought I knew everything about this series ...

 

Wait what? You never see Carly until Dark of the Moon.

 

Okay, well then this chick just looks really fucking similar. I didn't think it was the same person, but they looked a lot a like and I couldn't remember her name.

 

Oh my ****, that Arrow episode.
