My sisters and I used to play Megaman with my dad, it was the only series he enjoyed as much as we did.
Megaman 2 was one of my first games, I played it so much I could finish it in hard mode without loosing a single life.

I' ll never forget that one time I had been stuck in bed for days, feeling sick as crap. My dad popped up into my room and threw Megaman 5 on my bed. That was coming out of nowhere. It didn' t magically evaporate my illness but it sure brightened my day immensely.

 

the only megaman experience i have is x on ios and the z rom i tried to play years ago but couldnt get past the first part so gave up on

I had to leave work early because my legs hurt too much to stand. I'm not sure if this is the start of a virus or something else. It's either pains in my shins or pains in my joints.

I only missed like 3 hours. But I just couldn't make it those 3 hours.

i tried watching book 2 when it aired but couldn't stomach it

I saw the trailer and just...couldn't bring myself to watch. And then I read some things on tumblr from people who did watch and all I could do was sigh.

i mean, i'm pretty sure everyone was expecting sasuke to pull some bullshit so we could get that final naruto and sasuke fight, but holy ****. I felt so bad for Kurama calling out to Naruto like that. :CCC swear to god, if he actually manages to kill the other kage, if he kills Tsunade, i don't even care about narrative/thematic continuity, Sasuke Uchiha Must Die.

On the narrative though, I do like that Sasuke's gonna be the final conflict. Madara was overhyped and got one-shot, and Kaguya felt so thrown in. I think she could've had a lot of potential since she's the source for why everything went bad, but everything she did felt so underwhleming for someone who's supposed to be this god figure. With Sasuke there's this sense of finality, that we're going to come full circle and this will be the definitive moment for the ninja system and the conflict it's been deeply attached to for generations

yeah korra book 2 was prob my least favorite avatar season (aside from the first avatar eps and "a new spiritual age"). also doesn't help that studio pierrot (as a reference point they animated the naruto vs pain fight) did the animation for half of the season and it was so off compared to what the usual studio (studio mir) does.

 

Book Two of Korra is both better and worse than Book One. What the hell do I mean?

"Beginnings" and Avatar Wan were (at that point of the serie) the closest we had gotten to a consistently high quality story since Avatar: The Last Airbender. The beginning of the Book felt pretty strong (for about the first three episodes.) Bolin started to get treated as an actual character rather than a recurring joke.

At the same time, part of the reason Wan was so vastly interesting and was a breath of fresh air was due to the consistently disappointing characterization of most of the cast in the Book at that point (looking at Korra, Asami, Lin, Mako, and Unalaq [whom I constantly forget the name of]) It felt like the writers had no clue what kind of story to tell half the time, giving the overall Book various jarring transitions: time to be spiritual with the beginning as Korra learns to deal with Spirits NO WAIT let's be funny and stick Bolin in a parody of film actors NO WAIT here's Mako being a detective and Lin for no raisin being a gigantic bitch NO WAIT Avatar Wan and Beginnings are epic yet personal NO WAIT let's finish with a stupidly out of place deus ex machina and giant monster fight.

Book One had a ton of flaws too, that I'm sure was why so many people dropped the series. Love triangles with bland and uninteresting writing, Pro Bending taking up more space than stories that need to be told (STILL don't have an actual explanation for Amon's blocking of Bending BTW,) Mako and Korra acting like idiots half the time BECAUSE EMOTIONS, Bolin doing...nothing, and exposition dump for villain backstory. It was an absolute slog in the middle until the writers were like "OH SHIT LET'S GET BACK TO STORIES WORTH TELLING."

Book Three wasn't amazing, but it's at least been the most consistently good, especially looking back at the messes of Book One and Book Two. The new Book never made me wonder "So when is this gonna get good again?"
