Because, about the reveal, I kinda don't like it. Or rather, I don't know how I feel about it. I really resist changing the big bad this late in the series, since Madara has been built up to the whole time. And while I don't necessarily like Madara either, switching to someone who we knew nothing about before five chapters ago and who has, to my knowledge, only even been talked about one or two times before, seems really, really bad to me.

Yeah, I dunno how I feel about it either. I do admit when the Sage name dropped her again and described her more, I thought she was kinda interesting & was expecting her to show up in some way. The tree talking and then her face castin' shade over the whole world last chapter solidified it more, but it is really shaky grounds to change around the big bad this late -- especially given that we don't know about her motivations or anything.

I'm assuming she's gonna use the chakra of everyone trapped to make the fruit and eat it...but what comes after that? Not too big into Madara either, but the guy at least had a solid enough plan. Hopefully the plot's able to just slide smoothly into whatever ****ed up plans Sasuke has after she's beat.

Oh I think she's fine on her own, potentially just as interesting if not more than Madara (who I don't even like) out of context, it's just that everything surrounding the Sage has been touched upon so little throughout the entire series that it suddenly becoming this important this late in the series with everything else that's going on makes it seem like an afterthought.

rewatching gundam uc it has occurred to me that gundam protags are consistently the most goddamn annoying characters ive ever encountered

japan's fetish with anti-war philosophical teenagers coupled with anime tropes really weighs down what's otherwise a nice science fiction franchise

 

So I'm playing Pokemon Y and I decided to battle people randomly online, one of my first matches that I run into is this kid from Japan with an Arceus, Mewtwo, Darkrai, and Rayquaza (double battle). Almost beat him too ;_;

It's funny how much I hate people who cheat / hack in games when I was the guy known for making those things possible years ago. Oh how the tides have turned.

 

Ever since Pokemon Platinum, I've lived by the credo: Legendaries are for the weak, unless you're playing solo or with friends solely for fun.

 

Why only since Platinum?

 

I am officially taking myself off hiatus now that my laptop is fixed and I think I found the answers I needed.

 

Probably because Gen 4 started the tradition of having a clusterfuck of legendaries. Between Darkrai, Cresselia, Shayman, Arceus, Azelf, Mesprit, Uxie, the volcano guy (I forget his name) and the main three, I'm sure it had more legendaries than all the games before it put together.
