The Last Hope of their Future

"Did you try find a way to reverse the curse before you decided to kill him?" Azusa asked, her voice started to get louder and more angry. "Or did you just think there was nothing you could do?"
Her whole body started to tremble with anger. She lunged at Rik.

Rik let her hit him and he was knocked back a short distance, "I Killed him, there was nothing left to do", Rik said now lifting his hand full of dark light he copied from Daisuke. "It seems you won't be able to forgive me, i'm not ready to go just yet, i'll let you be reunited though", he said ready to finish her off.

 

Azusa's wild side had taken over, she had no control over what she was doing. She lunged at Rik a second time, the last time...

 

Rik held his hand forward, "Looks like i'm a terrible god father and a worse friend", he said purging Azuza in the darkened light pouring out of his palm.

 

Azusa screamed at the light touched her she felt her skin slowly decay. The used every bit of her strength to try and resist. Somehow she managed to but she was now in an extremely weakened state and she fell to the ground.

 

After Rik presumed her dead he dropped to his knees, his left arm was damaged by Azuza's fire through the fight. The flames had gotten through gaps in his armour on his arm and the heat also damaged his heavily scarred arm. He then dropped onto his front laying the side of his face in the dirt, his eyes looking at the water.

 

Azusa struggled to stay awake, she knew she was going to die in a few minutes time. "Rik, I'm sorry, I wish it ended differently but I guess it didn't..." Azusa said in a hoarse voice she flinched at the pain. "I just wanted to say... thank you... for saving me from this...... hell I've been in.... I'm sure you would've been a great god father... and an even better friend... I bet my brother.... was happy... to be your friend..." She chucked softly. "Thank you Rik..."
With that she turned into a pile of ashes and was swept away in a gust of wind. Azusa was dead now, she would never return. Yet another pureblood was laid to rest.

 

Rik lay there. Now alone. He rested letting his body heal, his mind was a blank. The only ones who could even have a chance of being alive from his past would probibly of forgotten him or presumed him dead.

 

"I better go, there's something I need to check out in a valley nearby."
Chiyon waved goodbye to Kaji and ran off.

 

Rik lay there as he slowly drifted into a sleep.

 

Chiyon walked into the clearing where the valley was she spotted someone floating in the water. "Hey are you alright?" she yelled out.

 

Rik didn't answer, he felt like he was unconcious yet concious. He wanted to move and talk but his body wouldn't move. It was the price of his powers overuse, extreme exhaution.

 

Chiyon walked up the the man she crouched down on her knees and examined his face. She noticed the cuts and burns on his side.

 

Rik slowly came to use his right arm and moved it outwards and raised it before dropping it a few inches away.

 

Chiyon placed her hand on his back and helped him sit upright. "Did you get into a fight with someone?"

 

Rik looked at the woman, "In a way", he said quietly from the strain of his bodys negative effects.

 

"Do I know you from somewhere? You look familiar..."

 

"I haven't the foggiest", Rik said to the woman before him, she seemed similar to someone he knew.

 

"I've probably got you confused with someone else." said Chiyon.

 

"Probibly", Rik said feeling his body movement return.
