The Last Hope of their Future

Yuka rested on her side, there was a burning sensation coming from behind her eyes. What the hell is happening to me? she thought to herself.

 

"Mind if I joined you?" kaji asked from behind Yuka

 

"Sure... I don't really mind." Yuka groaned.

 

"What's buggen ya?" he asked

 

"I've been feeling..." Yuka struggled with the word. "Unwell."

 

"How come? Do you have a fever of sorts?" he asked her

 

"No, I've been getting a burning sensation behind my eyes and sometimes my body just feels... wierd." Yuka explained.

 

"Like somethings changing in it?" he asked her. "Sort of like the very make up of your body is morphing?"

 

Yuka nodded slightly, she wrapped her arms around her stomach.

 

"Times are getting hard these days. Now that everyone is trying to keep from attacking humans, its been getting hard on everyone. I don't blame you" he said to her. "We might have to resort to using those within our kind who have broken the law if it becomes a must" he mumbled

 

"Your blood is definitely doing something to my body..." Yuka groaned. She got a weird feeling in her body again.

 

Rik headed out of his temporary castle and towards the vampire citadel, leaving the lingering spirits behind.

 

"Your changing. Soon enough you'll barely even be a vampire" he said to her, as he let out a breath. "You might not even need to drink blood anymore"

 

Yuka laughed to herself quietly. "So that's going to be the end of the daywalker's bloodline is it?" she asked herself.

 

"It won't exsactly end it. You'll just be different I guess. Your a pure blood so I'm not sure whether the effects will be the same on you as they were me" he said, as he looked at his hand. "I was turned into a monster. Then that monster was turned into a vampire" he said. "You might actually be lucky" he said to her.

 

Rik approched the gates of the citadel once again, "The smell has lessened since my last visit", he whispered to himself as he reached the entrance and let himself in like last time. He then continued to head into the settlements looking for a notice board to be held up somewhere.
