Same thing was happening to me this week...it would only show the background of the site for like 10 minutes....

 

lols, tats why I cheated!! FireFox has a FasterFox facility that helps to load faster even though the server is slow... At least it can load twice as fast as the original ones... but Usually when i surd with safari it doesn't cause a lag problem... Not sure what did i do this time...
