The Gift of the Goddess

"Sorry having a bad day," Nox relaxed a bit. He lowered the gun but didn't put it away, "and perhaps the less you know the better."

 

Aly wandered into a small dirty house, closing the door behind her, or what was left of it. Humming to herself gently, she ran her fingers along the wall, then went into the tiny kitchen, grabbing the leftovers of a loaf of bread. She had to find a place better then this.

 

Aria arrived home shortly after, only to find her grandmother taking a nap. She let out a quiet sigh as she walked towards the kitchen, wondering what she should eat. That gift of the Goddess stuff is making me even more curious. Power, life and death. You only get one but the Goddess decides. she thought as she opened the refrigerator door, looking inside. It sounds more like a gamble or something. She reach in, taking out some bread and ham, deciding she would eat a simple sandwich. Getting death as your gift is something nobody wants. But what about the other two? Aria turned back around, putting everything away once she was done making the sandwich. She took a bite out of it and leaned against the kitchen counter. Are they good or bad...?

 

Daisy sighed. Ugh! This guy is starting to piss me off. She tried to stay calm. "Whatever." She rolled her eyes. "I guess I'll be leaving then." She said as she stood up.

 

Kurt stopped her. "Hey, Daisy? Is it alright if I come to your place for a bit? Just to shower or something?"

 

She stopped. What a creep! "No. I don't think my parents would take too kindly to that idea." Any bit of calm she had left was gone. I sware, if this guy dose one more creepy thing, I'm going to stab him. She couldn't stay calm anymore, so she politely turned away and got away from the them. This whole city has gone mad!

 

Kurt sighed. "I think she took that the wrong way." He looked back at the man. Kurt then walked back to his guitar, putting it once again in it's case. He sat down next to the man. "So, what's your story?"

OOC: Daisy and Nox got into a firefight with some guys Nox got wounded. Meanwhile Kurt and Aly found their way through the forest and they went their seperate ways. When Kurt got back to town he found Daisy and Nox. Nox was still wounded however Daisy had managed to bandage him up. Daisy left soon after. Aly is currently in the slums of the town, Daisy heading home, Nox and Kurt sitting in the town square.

 

Aria sighed before taking another bite out of her sandwich. Most of this talk of the Goddess annoyed her, but another side of her made her curious. She turned around, walking out of the kitchen and going to check on her grandmother. She was still sleeping. Aria smiled, finishing her sandwich and heading outside. She stood in front of the door, with her hands on her hips and looking around as she watched children run around playing, adults talking amongst themselves, people doing their own work around their homes. Aria felt as if being poor is a lot more peaceful than being rich.

 

Daisy wandered around the streets near her house, not wnting to go home just yet. she said polite a "hello" to her neighboors as she passed them. finally she found herself at her front door. When she went inside she found a note from her parents saying that they wouldn't be home until later that day. She shruged and streched out on the couch.

Micheal looked around for an old, wrinkly man who according by his friend had some information about the so called goddess. "There he is!" Micheal said, mumbling to himself and walked over to the old man- sitting on a wine barrel, eyes closed and sitting indian style. The man had scruffy white hair and was wearing a long blue robe. "Are you Onrue?" Micheal asked the old man. The man opened his eyes- revealing pale, milky, white eyes-indicating that he was blind.

"Yes..." The old man said in a squeaky, high pitched voice.

"Im Micheal and I was told that you have information on the sorceress..." Micheal said. The man reached into the dangling arm part of his robe and pulled out a peice of paper- rolled up.

"12..." Onrue said.

"12?!" Micheal said-shocked. "Erhh.. Fine! It better be worth it though." He said- reaching into his pocket and holding out 12 golden coins. They exchanged. Micheal opened the peice of paper and saw that it was a terrible doodle of a dog. "What kind of jo-" Micheal asked looking down to were the old man was before but was no longer there-leaving a robe and a mask. He looked left and saw a girl running. "Hey! Come back here!" Micheal said and chased after her.

"Run Annjalean!" Annjalean's mother said to her as she fell to the ground-weak.
"Mother!" Annjalean said to her mother and ran over to her. "Mother.. please... don't go!" Annjalean said while tears streamed down her face, trying to hold back.
"Listen Annjalean... you need to travel to the nearest village. Youll be safe there.." Her mother said as her too began to cry.
"No... I cant! I wont leave you!" Annjalean said to her mother- grasping onto her moms cloths and sinking her face into them.
"You have to Annjalean. You have to be strong for me. Remember... I have and always will love you.." Her mother said, smiled and slowly closed her eyes and died.
"MOTHER!" Annjalean shouted- not able to bear it. "I..will..mother.." She said- getting up and left the house as the smoldering flames crumbled the house down. Annjalean looked away. She knew that her mom was in heaven- flying with the angels. Annjalean turned around, wipped her tears from her eyes, and traveled to the nearest town- a town called Pandora.

 

Nox got up and headed out of the town square. After a fire fight you wonder alot of things. Was that it? Are there more? What is it they want? You also noticeother people. A man who reacches into his poket forhis walet could actualy be reaching for his gun. The women eyeing you at a table across the street. Is she intrested or waiting for a clear shot?

 

Sighing as she finished the bread, she wiped her fingers then looked out into the street. Only people who were inbetween jobs or houses were out in the streets, grungy looking. They would steal from each other to feed their families, or do worse if they didn't have one. She would stay inside, thank you verymuch.

 

Daisy started to doze off. I guess today was more tiring than I thought. She closed her eyes. I can't believe that that guy never told me his name. What is this world coming to anyway? She let out a heavy sigh. Whatever. It's not really my problem is it?
