The Gift of the Goddess

She sighed, then smacked the back of his head. "Maybe other people want to live longer. And don't start a forest fire. I like it here." She smiled angelically, then headed easterly, looking over her shoulder. "You probably don't want to be here in the dark."

 

He rubbed where she hit him. "Ow." He followed her lead.

 

"Don't be a baby." she smiled inwardly, wondering if he could keep up with her. Heading into the darker parts of the woods, she brushed against tree trunks, smiling to herself as she walked almost silently, then waited till he caught up to her by the stream.

 

Kurt realized that she had left him behind and rushed through the brush in her general direction before spotting her near a stream. "Don't do that!" He said kiddingly.

 

She smiled sarcastically. "And here they said girls are soft and slow." She then smiled, to show she was joking, and turned, jumping lightly across the stones to the other side. "Don't try touching me. I"ll show you how soft I am."

 

"What's crazy is that I know you'll do it." Kurt grumbled, trying his best to do as she did. He almost fell but made it over.

 

She smiled angelically. "So dont' act crazy and do it. Then you won't ever have to find out." Walking along the river, she watched the water not as much as where she was going. The water was prettier, and she had been this way too many times.

 

Kurt sighed. "Now I wish I hadn't gotten rid of that cig." He said to himself. Kurt soon saw the town come into sight. "At last!" Kurt grinned and picked up his pace.

 

Aly watched him pass her, then smiled, crossing her arms over her chest and leaning against a tree on the border. "Well thanks for the companionship. I hope we meet again, just to feel the pleasure of your smile."

 

Kurt turned around, still walking. "Likewise." He turned back and continued on his way.

 

Aly counted, waiting till he was too far from sight to watch her, then headed toward what could be called the slums of Pandora. She refastened her knives as she walked, knowing there was a big probability she might need them soon.

 

Kurt continued until he was in town square. He took a deep breath. It was nice to be back. He took his bass guitar out and sat on the edge of a fountain, tuning it. Several of his friends were sure to be there soon.

 

"Alright." Daisy found the supplies in his bag. She sterilized her knife and dug the bullet out. She didn't want to think of how painful it looked. She cleaned and bandaged the wound and sighed, relaxing a bit now that is was over.
Then she noticed someone was sitting on the other side of the fountain. She never expected to se anyone here so soon after the gun fight. Didn't he see the bodies on his way over? Weird. She decided not to talk to him, she saw where that got her last time.

Kurt heard some groaning and stopped tuning for a moment. He set down his guitar and walked over to the other side of the fountain where the sounds had come from. He saw a man laying up against the fountain and a girl with a knife sitting next to him. Kurt once again checked, making sure that his knife was easily accessible before speaking. "Hey, is everything alright here?"

 

Nox winced a few times in pain. He tried to relax failed but he tried, "So who are you and why didn't run away from the shots?"

 

"Shots?" Kurt looked down and noticed the pistols the man had laying next to him. "Oh. Sorry I just got here a minute or two ago. Anyway, I'm Kurt."

 

Nox looked at Kurt. He wasn't who Nox was talking to he hadn't noticed him earlier.
After a fire fight the adrelin usaly wears off a little but is brought back in full force if you expect the posiablity of some one else to come and kill you.
Nox grabed his gun and pointed it at Kurt.

 

Kurt saw the man in a quick movement pick up the gun and point it at him. Kurt put his hands up. "Hey, hey, hey! Let's calm down here eh?" He was slowly sliding his knife open using his pinkie finger, ready to strike should the man think of shooting.

 

"Whoa, guys, just chill a bit, kay?" She said to both of them. "I'm Daisy, by the way, and I didn't run because a gunfight is more interesting than than a stroll through the city." She shrugged as if it was a normal occurrence. "And you!" she pointed at Nox, "you never told me who you were! So spill it."

 

Kurt put his hands down, keeping his eyes on the man. "Yeah, nice to meet you Daisy."
