The Future I was watching a video in technology education today that described everything about the medical field in the future. The video showed a few weird things to say the least... One of the things they talked about is how in the future computers will be built in people's clothing to show numerous things. Like a coach can moniter an athlete's heart rate or it you are knocked unconcious your clothes will check how badly you've been hurt, where, and call the authorities automatically. They also talked about how in 50 years flying cars will rule the sky. A flying ambulence will reach a person twice as fast and how even if a person is dying they can use something called reverse death to save a person. Another thing they talked about was artifical organs. One person said in 60 years they are going to have the technology to print a heart. Yes,print. To be able to convert the sells through a printer to make a heart. Just empty out the ink cartridges and put in cells. Another subject was how the surgeon could make the cut on a halogram 3D body and robotic arms will make the cut on the real person.(Leaving room for error are we?) They are also going to develop scanners that can scan your body and have a X-Ray and outline for the doctors in seconds. One last thing: They said that in the future people won't have alot of privacy because of chips in your brains and things they are going to install inside of you. They are going to allow for daily body checks. (Are we robots now?) And...health insurance will cost 1/4 of our salary. (Way to suck us in.) ~~ Do you believe people will eventually have enough technology to do all these things?Do you think it's right? No privacy?Robots? I personally believe that it's good to a certain degree.I mean we do have our certain freedoms as citizens, the video had doctor stalkers checking on people at every minute.
Not all of them. People promise a lot of things and while some of these things are out there already there are other that won't come because of unforseen reasons. That's just the way things work.
I hope the medical field advances as much as possible. Though some of what you said aren't exactly helpful, like "you won't have much privacy". That's not good, helpful or anything positive at all.
I never said I think this was going to happen. Actually I find it very unlikely. They only have one actually invented anyway. And it still has a few problems. I find this "flying car" destined to failure anyway.
There has been like, 10 flying cars in the past 10 years. >: And I know this isn't what you said. I'm just stabbing at the pure hilarity of misproductivity in television. The thing about the medical field is that things update so quickly, by the time you get out of med school, it's more than likely you'll have to relearn a lot of new things your first several years as an intern. Plus, I don't think anyone stops going to seminars about new idea's and machines/inventions which make things a lot safer/healthier. It's just the way society is. lol
Oh really? I guess you learn something new everyday. Well I guess those 10 cars didn't really get any air time. The media rules out everything "unimportant" i suppose. xD Nothing important is ever covered on television. They have shows like John and Kate Plus 8, that are stupid and predictable.Hardly anything is entertaining anymore. This is exactly why don't want to be a doctor.Because you can't leave room for any mistake at any time. And, doctors are human. Not super computers that absorb every piece of information given to them, sometimes we forget people aren't perfect because we expect so much. There are always going to be new things.Because nothing is ever enough in science. There are always new limits and new tools and things. It's strange.
The one thing about the progression of society with technology. The morality of the technological age depends on the human factor. if people refuse technology that infringes their privacy then it won't happen.
Wow. O.o *Had to post here* Very old news to me though(as in ancient XD). Really though, it's not as if anyone's going to force it on you. Although it'd be interesting to have all that fancy...stuff. Sad how right now if you really wanted a flying car you need a pilot's license. Later on in the future...well, driving would probably be obsolete. Although not everyone would travel by flying car. *Shrugs* Not much else to say other than I want my lightsaber. B|
Agreed. But yea. I've been hearing about "the future" for a while now, and let me tell you, even IF the oil companies, pharmaceutical companies, and other big businesses let it happen, it'll take trillions of dollars to switch all our infrastructure to accommodate any new revolutionary technologies. We would probably need some kind of completely catastrophic event to destroy all our infrastructure before we would be willing to invest in things like flying, electric cars. Even for just electric cars, we would need to A) get the oil companies to accept a drastic profit cut (not likely), B) convert all our existing gas stations to produce electric power, C) get a pricing scheme set up D) get all the gas powered cars off the road, E) build a shit-ton of new power plants to supply the power for the cars, F) probably find a new source of power (fusion, for example), because our current sources would not be enough to power all those millions of cars. And that's just for ONE aspect of the future world I keep hearing about. All that alone would probably cost well over 2 trillion US dollars. Now factor in the rest. Trust me. It's not gonna happen in our lifetime.
some of these things are in other movies. back to the future and bicentanniel man. about the artificial organ thing they also said they would be able to make them work like a healthy young adult's organs which means that doctors are trying to make eternal youth. 1. healthy organs for old people prevents them from dying of old age. 2. plastic surgery makes them look younger
