The Final War, Light Vs Dark

Lysa smiles at Sapphire as she lifts off, igniting the engines and blasting into the sky, "it's fine, it really is... I understand how you feel, the need to be independent, to run from people who pretend to care for you... just remember that some people actually do care, okay?"

"I see..."said the heartless in a blank tone. "While it's no surprise a dire situation called out some hidden potential, that potential may not stay surfaced once you return to safety. You need only work at it to gain your keyblade permenantly. In the meantime, i wish to discuss our next course of action with you all." R began. The first pieces of the stone were the easy part. The other two would be tricky. Without the power of a dark cornerstone to neutralize the second cornerstone of light, any he sent for it would be significantly weakened. "Gexln, you have the ability to track darkness through the lanes between, no?" ​

A dire situation, hidden potential, and lack of it when in safety? That would explain the keyblade itself not being able to be summoned once he got back. So, if what R had said was right, then all he needed to do was practice to be able to use the keyblade? His attention was snapped back to the present when R asked him a question. He scratched his head thoughtfully. "Well, yeah, but it can get pretty tiring sometimes, it depends how far away the person is. Although I can still do it, but I need to know the scent of the person's darkness myself, some item of their possession or even just being around them for a minute would do, why do you ask?" he responded. He wondered what exactly it was that R had in mind, and why it would require the use of his darkness-tracking ability.

Xero looked at R for a moment in confusion as he asked Gexln about his tracking ability, "What is it you're trying to find R?"

Valinton chuckled slightly as he saw the other boy summon a Keyblade, "That little thing won't do much against me..." He then looked back at Caleb, "And if you want a fight, you'll get one..." He only gave the two a glare waiting for either one of them to attack.

R pulled the halfstone from his pocket and tossed it to Gexln. It was fairly heavy. Much more so the an ordinary rock. It was half black and half white, split right down the middle. Each side eerily glowed with it's color. "Use the scent of darkness within that stone. We need to find the other half to create a weapon which may well turn the tides of this war. However, i must warn you of the difficulty of this task before you do it. This needs to be tracked not only across space, but across time as well. What's more, it's in a different time of a place that exists outside of time. The realm of darkness." R explained. The initial reaction he expected was something along the lines of "And just how the bloody hell am i supposed to do that?!" so he said something to explain it. "Time and space are not so different as you would imagine. It may be more difficult, but it should be possible. Although if you prove incapable of doing it, i suppose i'll need to find another method of tracking it..." ​

Gexln caught the halfstone, which seemed oddly heavy in his hands. Was it because of the darkness? R explained to him that the other half was needed to turn the tides of the war, which would mean that he believed he could stop the fighting? How would he do that? And would it mean that Kaxar would be harmed in the process? Maybe he could find a way to get the stone without Kaxar needing to be hurt. He realized R was waiting for a response. "You won't need another method, I'll do it" Gexln answered.

He tossed around the stone for a little bit, testing it's weight as he walked away a short distance from R. He then sat down and crossed his legs, making sure to put the stone down on the ground in front of him. What R said had bothered him slightly, for it was not a where that Gexln was trying to find, it was a when; something Gexln had never tried before. Usually he just found the current location of something, but now he was supposed to find something from the past, could he do it? Darkness had existed since the beginning, so in theory he would be able to find it, but without trying he'd never know. He flexed his fingers cracking the knuckles as he took a deep breath. "Well, here we go" he said quietly.

He began the process, focusing intensely on the stone's dark signature. The first thing that popped up was something he knew, that the stone was directly in front of him, but he needed to go past that. He tried specifically looking for the object's past. People turning over the stone thinking nothing of it, people wanting to gain its power for themselves, and people that just plain wanted to know what the stone was, plenty of images came up. He gritted his teeth in determination as he continued delving into the stone's past. Searching, searching for the other half, until finally...was that it? Yes, there it was! That was the time! He stopped searching and returned his mind to the present, his forehead dripping with sweat. The dark signature technique had taken more out of him than he had realized. "I..know...where it is" Gexln said, between breaths that made it sound as though he could drop dead at any moment.

As much as Caleb wanted to battle Valinton, to stop this man who could possibly be in allegiance with R, he couldn't. What he knew now, that he hadn't known before he had met Louvel and the others, was that there were people who were most likely in danger, people that couldn't defend themselves. If he stayed to fight Valinton, he could very well be too late to save them. His anger welled up, either way he wasn't going to like the outcome. "We're not here to fight you, not now. There will come a time that our blades will cross, but that is not today" he said, his frustration not lacking in the tone of which he spoke. He turned to face Louvel again. "We should probably go help the others" he said for what seemed to be the 50th time.

An ever slight hint of a smile appeared on the corner of R's mouth. They were one step closer to his goal. His goal...would the others approve of that? Would they try to stop him? If they did, would he have to kill them over it? There was no question he had the power to. He didn't want to though. R didn't like killing, but didn't make a fuss over doing it for his goal. A perfect world, but enough of getting lost in thought. He had to address the others about their next course of action. "Excellent. From the misson to recover the last stone, i've learned to do these things myself. Gexln will need to come along as a guide. Xero, you'll accompany us. I want to see what you've learned. Kaya, Ruby, you're on standby. I suggest you use this time wisely and attempt to better your combat skills." R said the last part harshly, as though still slightly upset at their failure. "We leave as soon as you're both ready. I may know a method for getting to the stone." R then looked as though something had occured to him. ​

"Ah. I had nearly forgotten. The enemy knows our location. They may attack at any time. We can't let this castle become occupied by the light. So should an attack arise while i'm not here, or should you find yourself in a life threatening situation you can't handle, use this." R created several dark stones in his hands and passed one to each of the darks. "This will act as a beacon to call out for help. Myself or anyone else holding one will be able to hear it's call." After finishing their defensive measure, he waiting for Gexln to recover his breath, then they'd set out.​

Xero perked up when R said that she could go with them and gave a small smile as she took the stone R gave her, "I didn't exactly learn that much, just a few simple things like focusing on using the darkness around me mostly... And Gexln helped me keep Ansem away while using the darkness. "

​

Valinton huffed a bit as he turned away from the two, "Consider this a warning for next time then: once I see you again, I won't give you any sign I'm coming after you. " He then walked away and out of the mansion.

R seemed a little bit surprised at Xero's mention of that name. "Ansem? You're the host of Ansem? Hmph. Well there's a name i haven't heard in a while. Honestly i hoped i'd never hear it again..." The heartless said, then went quiet for a moment. They still needed to wait for Gexln to catch his breath. They would likely inquire as to his connection with Ansem, so he answered their question outright. "I...suppose you could say that Ansem is something like my father." ​

"Well, i suppose it's time i did my share of the work." Xindai removed the glowing blue crystal from his pocket. Utilizing it's power, he was gone in a flash and the world of Inwonahé was abandoned once more. The place he appeared was a highground. He stood on top of the castle in the city of light. "Well this place has certainly gone downhill..." the dark creator thought to himself. His right eye began twitching and became irritated. This place stank of light. "Now then, i just hope the archives are still here." Gracefully descending down to street level, he landed in front of a peculiar house which looked as though the roof was a wizard's hat. This place had changed so much that it'd take hours to find his way around. So all he had to do was ask for directions. If nothing else that'd bring it up in their minds and he could take the information by force without them ever knowing it. He knocked on the door and waited for a response. ​

"Yeah.. Sadly I am his host." Xero said, but what R said next surprised her, "WHAT?!" Her eyes went wide, "R, for as long as I've known you, you've never told me this!" As Xero thought about it more, her face became the look of disgust, "Eew... You're father is inside me..." She shuddered at the thought, "Do you realize how weird that is R..?"

"Yes i'm well aware of that..." R said in his usual expressionless voice. If you knew him well enough to see through that, then it'd be apparent that he was uncomfortable with the idea as well. That was like being older than your mother. "He's not my father in the sense you would think though. Merely responsible for my creation." R was silent for a few moments. Eventually, the brown haired man came to a decision. "I suppose it's time i told you all a bit about me. I'm not like you. Some of you are humans, and some of you are nobodies...But i am a heartless. The heartless of a world that fell to darkness during Ansem's rampage." ​

 

Inside the ship, Annabelle glanced out the window. She was excited to see Twilight Town again. For some reason, she had a feeling her sister and Luna were there. It was weird. "Hey Lysa, I feel as though my sister and her friend are in Twilight Town. If they aren't, can I continue to travel with you? I mean... Sapphire doesn't seem to be coming and I'd feel better if I had a travelling buddy. Hehe." she told her with a smile.



Ruby looked up at the ceiling as she lay on her back. "Hey Kaya... Why are we in this whole war? Why do we have to fight our own families for this? I don't think your brother is ALL bad... Sapphire and my sisters probably aren't either. Annabelle and Sapphire are just kids, so I'm sure they're only confused. I honestly don't see why we need to hurt our families, they ARE family after all..." Huh. How weird. She was actually starting to ponder her role in all this and why she was fighting. It sorta unsettled her in a way. She closed her eyes and waited for Kaya's response, which probably wasn't gonna be pretty.




Garnet walked out of the bathroom, looking at Caleb and Louvel. "What'd I miss? I heard a guy from the bathroom and I wanted to come help but... I had... Woman things to tend to. Sorry..." she said blushing.




"UGH!" Came a voice near Azurite, "BEUCE I'VE HAD IT WITH YOU!" She stomped off back towards Azurite, who had a strange look on his face as to question why she was upset. "Beuce is a prick! He does nothing but try to make a move on me and he's not even focusing on what we're freaking doing! I'm sick of his attitude!" She crossed her arms and leaned against the wall, angry at her comrade.

Kaxar bit the edge of her lip slightly. As King Mickey mentioned not facing it herself, and always having friends, the moment of Glen giving into the darkness arose in her mind, the memory itself causing a great deal of emotional pain for herself as though it had only happened the day before. "Sometimes, the friends give into darkness, and sometimes you have to face things alone" Kaxar said. She didn't like pretty much saying to someone that they were wrong, but if there was one thing Kaxar knew it was about what it was like when someone you knew gave into darkness. She decided that Mickey was right in waiting for the others though, so she began being silent.

Caleb glanced quickly at Louvel, not out of caring but to check the boy's eyes to see if he was sincere in his words. It seemed that he was. "If we didn't find anything here, I doubt the others would. I have lived in Twilight Town for a good portion of my life, and I have not heard of many strange things happening in this mansion" Caleb said, doing his best to explain. "So I would have to agree with heading back for now, we've wasted enough time as it is on this wild goose chase, those people you said might be in danger could very well be in an even worse situation now" he stated.

Caleb summoned a small dagger, one that was barely as big as his hand, and he hurled it at the wall with surprising strength. The dagger sailed through the air, spinning in a circular motion, until it hit the wall with a soft thumping sound, point-first. The dagger served as a warning to R; a warning that if he ever returned, the dagger would find itself in R instead of the wall.

Gexln finally caught his breath and stood up straight. He didn't have an issue with being a guide, he would be right at home in the realm of darkness even if it were in another time, but there were two things that caught his attention. "Your FATHER?" he questioned. "Even if you are a heartless, that doesn't mean that he's your father. He's a bloody psycopath, that guy, nobody should be calling that guy their father" he spat out. Gexln had a distinct hatred for Ansem, he himself hearing many, many things about him; almost none of which was good.

"Yes...Enough about my past." Said the heartless opening a dark corridor. The black portal contrasted the almost glowing white halls well. With one step through, they emerged not where one would expect. Rather than the realm of darkness, they came to Radiant Garden. It was here that R's means of time travel lied. However, more than just the old wizard resided here. To R, a stranger. To Gexln and Xero, it was an unpleasantly familiar face that turned around to see them. ​

​

"Well, here's a surprise." Xindai said. He had only come here to do research, yet here they were. He knew this person was R from the description he got out of Xero's mind. What secrets might the mind of one such as this hold? He extended his consiousness toward R's. However, when he reached it he...he was blocked off? That shouldn't even be possible. Just what kind of mental fortitude did this man have. The dark creator could probably get through it with his more powerful techniques, but for now he kept his cool. ​

​

R sensed it immediately. A darkness unlike anything he had ever felt before. The oldest and most fearsome darkness. The original darkness. Though he showed no sign of it, he watched this man very closely. Between the two, no words were exchanged. Simply a staredown. Both knowing full well that the other was a dangerous individual, absolutely capable of being their equal, the simply stood silent, not making a move. ​

​

"Wait! At least i'm a devilishly handsome prick!" Beuce called, running after Luna. "I happen to know R isn't here! i found out from KHV. But i mean i can't go around affecting the plot with that thing. It's a joke. The only time i affected the plot was with the whole pocket thing..." Beuce said, remembering that he had a magical pocket. "Hey! Wanna get in my pocket?" That...sounded dirtier than he'd intended.​

Xero walked through the dark corridor and when she looked up, she ignored the fact that she was in Radiant Guardian to the fact that Xendai was in front of her. She froze in terror as her wides widened, "R..." She pointed to Xendai, her hand trembled a bit, "It's him... The one who went through ny head..."

Caleb watched Louvel as the boy grabbed Emerald's keyblade. He wasn't sure what it was about the weapon, but something about it seemed precious to Louvel. Maybe it had something to do with his past, or maybe it reminded him of something, he would never be able to tell. He stepped over to Louvel. "Ready whenever the rest of you are, just lead the way" he said.

​

Kaxar gave a weak smile. "Thank you, your majesty. I hope that you're right, and that I can help my friend find his way back to the light. Although, it might be a little difficult" she said. Would she be able to help Gexln break free of his addiction to the darkness? For a brief moment after Xindai was beaten, it had seemed like he was her old friend again, the boy that had always been so kind to her, was she ever going to see that again? Her smile widened just a little bit. I know that you're trying to hide your feelings, Gexln, you've never been really good with it she thought to herself.

As Gexln stepped out of the dark corridor, he noticed two things. The first thing was that he was in Radiant Garden, a place that seemed a little strange to be in. It reminded him strangely of the town that Glen had grown up in, a place that was filled with pain. The second thing he noticed was the other person that was already there. "Xindai" he growled. He stepped forward to the point that he was standing next to R. "This guy, this is the guy that claims to have created the darkness" Gexln spat out. He gave no mention of the fact that, to an extent, Xindai was also the reason for his existence.
Once Merlin appeared, Gexln noticed that the old wizard hadn't addressed either him or Xero. He had seemed to be talking to Xindai and R, not surprising considering the tension the two were radiating from them. Despite knowing full well that Merlin hadn't asked him anything, Gexln felt the need to say something anyway. "Blue obnoxiously tall hat, hair that's as white as a Lesser Nobody's body, and skin that makes it look like you're about to crumble away into dust at any moment.." he started. He turned to R. "Is this wizard, Merlin if I remember correctly, the reason we are here?" he asked.

 

"He very well may be." R said in response to Gexln stating Xindai's claim. He could sense the darkness within this man, and it was powerful. "Haven't you ever looked closely at his darkness? At first glance it appears simply a strong darkness, but upon closer inspection you'll find it's older and far more powerful." R said in his deep emotionless voice. A glare was delivered to the dark creator. He had hurt Xero, and R wasn't going to let that happen again. He wasn't protective out of any sort of affection for the girl or anything, simply that he felt it was his duty as a leader. And perhaps to make up for the deeds of the man he percieved as his father. With a nod, he confirmed that Merlin was the reason they were there.​

​

By this point in time, Xindai had confirmed their reasons for coming. While R's mind was off limits, the other two were wide open. "The eternity stone hm? You're quite the ambitious one aren't you R? You know i created that as well. The things i could tell you about it. But for now, let's see what else is in your head. Oh my, the guilt you must feel from your father." Xindai said, bluffing his ability to read the thoughts of R. What he was actually reading was Xero's mind. The heartless became visibly uncomfortable at the prospect of his thoughts being read. "This poor girl, being his host. But then, what does a monster like you know about feelings?" ​

​

"Hold your tongue!" R snapped. A rare sight this was, R was angry. "Keep speaking and you may well lose it." Xindai laughed at the words. "Threatening me? You ought to know that's not wise. " "Gexln, finish our business here with Merlin. I'll soon follow once i deal with this." R practically shoved the nobody out Merlin's door and into the streets. ""So protective. Perhaps i've hit a soft spot?" Xindai laughed as a blade of darkness was flung at him. His telekinetic powers manuevered it to the side, past his head. "i'll take that as a yes." ​

Xero almost flinched as R snapped at Xindai. She had never seen him do that before. He was usually one to never yell or get angry. When R shoved Gexln out the door she looked at R, "I'm staying here.. You're not the only one who wants to kick this freak's ass.." Once R threw his blade at Xindai she grabbed his arm, "R stop! He's playing mind games right now! You don't even know what this guy's capable of..." Memories of the torture she was put through at Xindai's castle replayed in her head.

Valinton had wandered the town for who knows how long and he suddenly saw a young man get pushed out of a door and right in front of him. He just stared at the boy with a cocked brow, "You lost...?"
