The Demon's Crystals

I was gonna go for covert but this will be more interesting, hehe

Ed pulled out his wings but kept them folded for now. He needed a weapon of some sort...a tool or a sword would be better. He scanned the area near him and saw a guard standing by himself. Ed snuck up on him, careful not to make a sound on the leaves of the forest floor. With a soft thunk, the guard fell and Ed got his sword. It was now or never. Edmondus sucked in a big breath and ran at the demon holding the girl, he cut the rope with one swift motion, and at the same time, grabbed the girl around her waist. He jumped and fanned his wings out, soaring high above the, now angry demons. They were going fast and getting away fast too. He cloaked both of their presences and they flew into a cloud.

 

Kiara felt something grab her waist. She almost let out a yell, but she put her hand over her mouth to muffle it. She waited until they were in the cloud, before she let out a slight low yell, from the height she was looking at. She shut her eyes softly, but it hurt to, where her face had been so sore. She kept one hand over her eyes and the other across her lips, to make sure nothing else would go through. She had been punished for screaming once, and it wouldn't happen again.

 

As the water droplets clung to his face, Ed looked down at his, now, charge. His eyebrows went up and he cocked his head slightly. Shaking it, he returned to the business of the cloud, finally breaking through to the other side, where the sun warmed his back.

"I would ask what you are doing but that would be rude," he said serenely.

 

Kiara pulled her hand away from her eyes. She looked up softly at him, her green eyes fluttering in the sunlight.
"Ummm," she said softly scared to say anything.
"I'm scared of heights. and i don't want to be hurt for speaking out of line," she said, quivering

 

He nodded and dropped to a lower altitude, about three feet above the trees, and adjusted her so she could ride on his back, in between his wings.

"Well I can't make you shut up, nor do I care if you talk for that matter. I'm not a chatterbox either."

 

She slightly adjusted herself. She wanted to keep quiet most of the time, but she wanted to talk also.. to get to know him.
"Can i have your name please? I'm Kiara," she said softly.

OOC: Gotta go, you can control my character if you wish until i get back tomorrow

 

"I'm Edmondus, but call me Ed, for your sanity and mine," he said, cracking a small grin. He landed at a cave entrance. It seemed fairly sized, and wasn't too big.

 

Shiro nodded and said, "We're guys. We can't let the females outdo us now, can we?"
He followed his sister into the darkness. He didn't like it; darkness always freaked him out. Kuro seemed more at home in it than he. She practically lived in her own personal darkness.
He needed to communicate with his sister, but doing so would reveal their presence.
An idea hit him. They did know the okami language.
He would've hit himself, but that was just not in his nature.

Kuro heard a string of low growls, yips, and barks. She knew this was her brother, since no one else spoke okami. She listened to his message.
What are you listening for? You do realize that if our presence is discovered we've left a huge dent in our clan's name, correct? Remember what Mother always said? Knowledge, courage, and honor are what we should be made of.

Kurokiba would've snarled, but she remembered that they were hiding. She replied in their native language.
You think I'd forget? Respect for our family only grew as a need as we got older. And the reason I'm listening is to see if this guy's hostile or a potential ally. Kami knows we need as much help as we can get. Now shut up before I come over there and beat you.

She heard a soft snort as a response.

Frank followed him in there, trying to be as quiet as possible.

 

Shiro looked over at Frank. He went over silently and barely spoke, "Are you okay in the dark like this?"

 

He whispered and said "I've been to darker places."

 

Shiro nodded. "Alright then."
He shifted his grip on his naginata slightly. "Why am I so uncomfortable in the dark anyway?"
Closing his eyes, he saw fragments of his past float before him. He let out something akin to a whimper.

 

"You okay?" he asked in a whisper.

 

He opened his eyes quickly. "Y-Yeah, just...just getting used to...uh, seeing in the dark," he replied in a whisper.
Shiro hated to lie, since his vision was quite good at night, but he couldn't be bothered by thinking of the past now. He couldn't tell that his eyes looked pained, though.

 

"Oh, alright." he said, continuing to whisper.

 

Shiro felt his demonic aura creep up on him. He squeezed his eyes shut again. "No! You will NOT escape."
He growled. The demonic energy in the cave was just too strong. Shirokiba's fangs and claws started to grow, and he assumed his eyes took on the golden hue of a setting sun.
When he opened his eyes again, he realized something...he was on all fours. He had paws. And a snout.
Kurokiba instantly noticed her brother's aura explode. She whipped her head to look at him, and was met with a huge white wolf with fierce amber eyes.
Shiro had gone into his absolute full demon form. He snarled and then howled.

 

"What the heck happened to him?" Frank asked Kuro.

 

jecht looked at it then looked away
"yea thats her so your the half demon they said was her protecter .........strange how these events end up"

 

Kuro snarled. "Well. Our cover's blown, and whatever the #$^%'s in here just made Shiro go full demon. Which hasn't happened in...several years. Not since he got control of his demon blood."
She stared at her amber-eyed and now in full demonic wolf form brother.

"Shirokiba. Get control! If I'm okay in here, you should be too. What the hell's gotten into you?!"
His naginata had clattered to the ground, but his bow and quiver were still slung across his back.
Shiro growled and bared his huge canines. He wanted blood. And he smelled wolf blood from the girl staring him down.

Kurokiba saw the killer instinct in her brother's eyes and shouted, "Everyone out of the cave. NOW!"
She hoped the others weren't startled from her shouting in the darkness and drew one katana and faced her brother.

 

"But what about you?" Frank asked. "You can't take him on alone!"
