The best book you've read as an assignment.

Hmm, from what I can remember, lol, I would probably have to say Alice in Wonderland. I read the actual book last year for my Logic course, I found the whole story rather intriguing.

 

The Crucible, hands down

 

I had to read "Tangerine" last year and do a project on it. Really good book. Kinda creepy, but still good.
And for the record, I got an A+ on that project. :)

 

I've seen many wonderful books mentioned here. The Crucible and The Giver are amazing works of genius.

My favourite literary authour growing up was Nathaniel Hawthorne followed by Charles ****ens. The way Hawthorne conveys the messages in his stories is absolutely amazing to me. He uses illusions, symbolisms, and plenty of similes and metaphores, so much so that the simplistic story he appears to be weaving really is a cover over the deeper and more absolute feelings and truths. I adore Young Gooman Brown and The Scarlet Letter.

****ens has a way of making his realistic characters and dialogues capture your heart. Oftentimes his characters are very plain, normal individuals living in a world that is alive and thick with pressures. You will find his characters not only battling the environments, but with themselves: an inner conflict. He is truely a superb authour.

I really enjoy Edgar Allen Poe's dark tales as well. They are very crafty!

Another book I really remember well is Lord of the Flies. I'm not too keen on remembering the authour's name, but his theme of civilization and the demoralization of humanity is very vividly brought to life through that work.

Those are a few of my favourite authours and books that are introduced in a school environment.

I kinda like MacBeth, Animal Farm, and The Diary of Anne Frank

 

Yea. Definitely The Giver for me.

 

Lord of the Flies

Weird but interesting story

 

The best I was assigned has to be our novel this year; Noughts and Crosses.
I cried in the middle of class reading the ending...

This is kind of embarrassing, but my favorite school book was Great Expectations. It literally went into the backstory of every single character.
