That would be stupid to have trowing needles because that is Laxene's weapon

Mabe she might have a sper like Cid's.It has knives at the end of the spear.Or she could have boxing gloves like Tifa

 

Maybe they're poison needles gloves.

 

Well if her element is death, then something death related.

Hmm. Perhaps she fights with a knife in the shape of the nobody symbol?

Maybe her weapon is just katana? Or then she uses somekind of dolls, like Lulu in FFX.

 

Or maybe she cries tears that affect the opponent in whatever her element affects others. She could be some kind of emo.

A camera. Not a digital camera, an old fashioned camera. Like the Obscura camera from the Fatal Frame series. (It is called obscure, right?)
Her element can be death. And when she takes a picture of you, your soul is stuck in a picture for a period of time. (In battle-mode.) ;D

This totally reminds me of a Goosebumps book about a camera that would bring unfortune to whoever was in the picture, like "make" an ill and quite near future like a car accident.

Your battle idea kinda sounds like what Zexion's book pages does to Sora and co.
