    Skype has advertisements?
I've been using it for at least a year and I've not seen any.

    Both are Unix based.

I think P is running Mac too. Isn't that so, P?

I like skype. I'm always on skype. All my friends have skype and it's how I talk to people while I play games. It's a lot better than most programs people download/buy to talk to multiple people.

I have Skype, and I've added people, but they're never on. And when they're on they never talk to me. :c

No. I recently upgraded to a new computer running Windows 7. It's what has led me to give up on Skype. The Mac version is more aesthetically pleasing, and doesn't have advertisements

Somehow I wouldn't call that an 'upgrade' given the circumstances.

I can't recall seeing any ads on Skype :v I don't go on much though so I could just be oblivious.

Yeah, just checked and I saw no ads lol.

    Therein lies the problem.

Indeed. You should install an Ubuntu partition if you have the space, or another distribution if you are savvy enough.

I enjoy Ubuntu but I just can't justify it as my main operating system. Windows 7 is really, really excellent--it's certainly not as customizable and perhaps not as fun as Ubuntu, but it just works really nicely.

The thing I really liked about Ubuntu was the notifications system, and the way everything (email, IM, music player, etc) was integrated in the top bar.

I am the other way around. I cannot go back to Windows. Linux is perfect for me as a main system. The speed is much better at the least. No fragmentation. No virsuses...

I do definitely like the speed--I considered switching to it for my main OS, and then using Windows only when I needed it. Can't remember what made me stop? haha

That is what I am doing. Only go to Windows for games, Voxli and Photoshop. Why don't you switch?
