Sweet Poison

"oh great vegtarians," Nox said, "what do you do for protien."
He grabed some butter and walked to the table with what he had.

 

She walked out of the room, a smile on her face. "Nuts. And why would we need to do anything about it? Why is it so important?" she closed the door behind her, then leaned against the small wooden countertop, arching an eyebrow.

 

Nox throught for a moment. He looked up at the cliening, "I like the taste of meat. You realy limit the tastes you can try."

 

"I found her in the lake. Why do you ask Aly?"
Saro scratched his head softly. He didn't understand what she was getting at. Hunger made higher thinking impossible. All he wanted was to eat, just as much as she did. Before that nymph, he hadn't caught a thing for three days. Such a famine had to end, now.

 

She smiled slightly. "But it also limits the lives of others." She rubbed her arm, thinking. "My kind was hunted by all overs not so long ago, for the purpose of being used as slaves and to be eaten. We broke free of it, barely, but the stigma remains."

Aly grinned, showing sharpened canines. "She has to live near water. Let's follow the river, and see what we can find." she whispered, taking his hand and leading him toward it. "She's a water nymph, so she has to remain near water to sleep. Other wise she'll feel umcomfortable."

 

Saro nodded. Of course, they had to be near water. All his prey needed that. It was good that she was so smart about this.

"Lead the way Alpha."

 

She stopped, then shook her head. "You lead. I"ll be your Beta. I'm not fit for Alpha." she murmured, pushing him in front. "Just follow the river. I'll be your advisor. If we stay in the same pack for a while."

 

Quick on his feet, Saro turned around and pushed Aly ahead.

"you lead then Beta, I shall be gamma. Now hurry. We are hungry, the two of us."

 

Aly couldnt' help but laugh, then followed the river. After a few lengths, she began to smell that sweet smell, like a flower in bloom. Her mouth watered, and she inhaled heavily. "Do you smell that?" she asked Saro, barely able to keep from drooling.

 

Saro nodded, sucking in deep breaths of the odor.

"It smells like dinner. How shall we go about catching it again Beta?"

 

She growled, watching the house. "We must..." her stomach rumbled. "There isn't another way it out, it seems. We will charge through the door, and try to make it swift." She licked her lips, crouching down. "Do you have the energy to shift one last time?"

 

"That all depends, is there a full moon out?"

The wolfman twitched and scratched. They were so close. He could already taste the soft flesh on his tongue, savoring the flavors.

"But do we really need to then?"

 

She rolled her eyes, watching. "It'll help us be faster, and stronger. We need that, because she has company. The witch from earlier." She growled lightly, then pushed her hair back. Focus, focus.But it was so hard to, when she could almost taste the food.

 

Before she could finish her thought, her gamma had already left her side and was barreling towards the door. Restraint was worthless now. The prize what at hand. Now more than ever, they should pounce and not wait on strategies.

 

Aly groaned, the typical teenager, then raced after him, forcing her body to change one more time. She would pay for it later, but she needed the speed now. She pulled him back gently, using her powerful jaws, then barrelled through the door, looking for the nymph, her hackles raised.

Daine gasped and stood up, her eyes wide. So they were desperate enough. She moved instinctively toward the witch, her protective instinct taking over.

 

"FOOD!"
That was the only thought that was going through his mind. Losing all control, he lunged at the tasty little nymph, trying to get a bite of her flesh.

"Gimme!"

 

Nox casted a circle around him and Daina. The circle would protecct them.

 

Aly snapped at Saro, then eyed the circle. Nasty magics...they would have to use everything. She growled, then opened her mind to Saro, hiding everything but this. He was too crazed to look anyway. If we both jump at the circle, it might distract the witch long enough to grab one of them. Or we have plan B. she growled/laughed, then crouched. On three. Which meant one. Her mind was assaulted wiht her own memories, and she cringed, but kept facing forward.

 

Nox pulled out two red potions.
'These are explosive when I throw them get down and run out of the newly formed hole,' Nox wisperd.

 

Daine smiled at him wryly. "Because I can just rebuild whatever damage comes to my home, right?" she murmured, watching the two. They were just following their nature, and she couldn't blame them. The female, in wolf shape, was really thin, as was the male. Life was tough being a werewolf, and she didn't blame them for their actions one bit. "Furthermore, you expect to outrun two fullgrown werewolves?"
