Sweet Poison

Daine picked her way around the tree branches carefully, listening. She couldn't hear anyone following or up ahead, and sighed. Her woodcraft sucked. Figured, since she was a river nymph. Plowing on, she sighed, leaning against a tree for a second.

 

Nox taped Daine on the sholder, "are you okay? I saw that you were attacked by a werewolf."

 

She whirled, then pressed a hand to her forehead. "Humans sneaking up behind me and werewolves going good and bad." She sighed, then smiled, tucking her hair behind one ear. "I'm fine, thank you. A werewolf would be hardpressed to kill one of us...." she rubbed her wrist thoughtfully, wincing a little.

 

"I'm not human," Nox said, "I'm a witch and River Nymth right?"

 

She sighed. "Pardon. I didn't know you had the.." she gestured. "Mark. Yes..." she tilted her head, her eyes bright as she examined him. "Why does a Witch have an interest in a nymph? We are not an important race. We barely survive." she gestured to the surrounding woods. "We are almost more scarce then humans."

 

"Well were both magic users I saw you were in troble wanted to make sure your okay," Nox said like it was no big deal, "I also need a bit of werewolf hair."

 

Nadia sighed. "As I am not a werewolf, I have no werewolf hair. Also....thank you, but I am fine." She sighed. "A moment of carelessness, was all." She dipped her head to him, then turned to leave.

 

OC: Ummm well not sure what to post

 

OOC: Sorry I haven't posted, I've been taking care of things, and have been busy.

BIC: Daine paused, her magic tugging her. She clenched her hand, closing her eyes. Not now, please not now. Her magic didn't want to listen. It pushed and tugged at her mind until she dropped to her knees, cradling her head. She would control it.

 

Nox came down to his knees and grabed Diane sholders, "are you okay?"

 

OOC: 20. words. please.

BIC: Daine winced. She could feel his life force, and coudlnt' stop it. Her magic flooded through his hand up into him, and when it was done, she felt weak, used, almost. She shakily looked over at him, wondering what had become of the witch.

 

Nox staggered backward and looked at his hands, 'did I do that?' Are you okay? Did I hurt you?'

 

She shook her head, leaning back. "I'm sorry." she murmured, closing her eyes. This much power always made her tired. "I'm not the best anymore." Even her words sounded mumbled, at least to her. That made her even more tired.

 

"What happened to you," Nox asked. He knew if you ever pet someone elses familar there was a chanse that the stored energy would go to you but this had been very differnt.

 

She smiled wanly, gathering her feet under her. "All nymphs all issues controlling their power at certain intervals. It's not our magic, it's natures. We are just the channel for it." She sighed, clenching her hand. "We can only do so much to control it. Though I am surprised, most people would become puddles of water after that."

 

"I can channel energy just fine," Nox said, "you need me to walk you home or to a lake or river... Wherever you live?

 

She giggled. "You have no idea what we do, do you?" she giggled again, then stood up. "I don't live in a river, unless I'm shape changed. I live in a normal house, like you would if you were human." She smiled.

 

"I don't own a house but I can still sleep in one," Nox said, "So what is your name?"

 

"Veralidaine." she murmured, setting off in the direction of her house. Mother was gone for a while, so she had the place to herself. Her heartbeat slowled as she walked along the river, smiling dreamily. Maybe she should shape change...it would be quicker getting home.

 

'Nox it's a pleasure to meet you,' he said folowing her.
The sky was turning orange. The dew was shimering in the morning light.
