I am now a Teaching Assistant at my old school (kind of...) for 30 hours a week, with I believe school holidays to boot. Not bad for a real full time first job. I've realised I'm working longer hours then my Dad, for under half the wages.
Oh sweet. Do you get to hang out in the teacher's lounge and stuff? Do they bring you cake and cookies all the time?
Freaking awesome I hope you have better luck than me. I get to go to the elementary on Wednsdays to work with little kids. Today I got to have my own little station where I read to the kids. The moment I sat down, one of the seated little girls stared at me and started crying. I felt preeeetty awesome. Also, I wish a KHV mem worked at my high school. Maybe Makaze.
I got invited to speak for a Poli-Rad class as a friend's old highschool. I never did go, but I think it would have been fun.
Yeah, I know, but going to Uni this year would've been a lot nicer. Thank you for the lovely comments, people. It's a salary for the year, and it's around £11,000. If I casually calculating that up... But something like 11,000 divided by 12 equals by about 900. So £900 a month, about 4 weeks in a month, so 900 divided by 4 is... About 225. 30 hours a week, times by 5 days is 150 hours. So 225 divided by 150 is... Wait that's not right... I get paid £1.80 an hour? Someone figure this out for me, please. Pay for all your own food at the canteen. Get Tea and Coffee free though. And yes I get to go in the lounge, alot bigger then I thought.
11,000 divided by 12 = 916.666... 916.6666...divided by 120 (since you work 30 hours a week, multiply that by 4) = 7.638888... O_____O;
That is roughly $17,345.90 a year. You cannot live on that. Your math is faulty where you tried to multiply weeks by days. What were you doing? Let me work this out... There are 52 weeks in a year. You will work 30 hours each week. Multiply 52 by 30. You will work 1,560 hours in a year. Divide 11,000 by 1,560 and you get £7.051282051 an hour.
As you can tell, I will struggle with Maths whenever i'm in that class. Thank you, kindly, both of you. People have lived on less. And it's not like i'm leaving home, so I have to pay rent to my parents now, but that's it. the rest i'll save up, but yeah, I now have a perminent term time job, a holiday job and a Saturday job. F*ck, I am actually a really lazy person why am I doing all this ****... ... Indeed... My thoughts exactly....
That's actually a pretty decent wage imo, although Dr. Doctor won't even be getting that much from this particular job since it's only term-time. When I had a full-time job, I earned a lot less and I managed to survive on it quite well while living at home.
