Agreed 100% this isn't apples and oranges, this is apples and bananas. You can't just play one time of game anyway, that's just boring, variety is where it's at.

 

maybe we are all missing that my friend had it, thought it sucked, i went to his house, and I thought it sucked. i dont need to play it. my other friends also dislike it and dont want it. it says something there.

That's a sufficient summary of the story right there If i do say so myself, quite proud of that actually, I should write fanfics for a living.

Yo Final... then don't try it. If you think it's not worth your time then it's your own opinion. Let other people play the game. We all don't have the same likes and interests, if we did, the world would end, and Hades would win again. So just state your opinion about it and that's fine. I didn't even play Alan Wake because it doesn't interest me either. Well for the fact that one, I don't own an xbox, and 2 I'm scared of the dark in games lol. So there is my opinion.

yes you play as his son in the end game for no good ****ing reason and do a shoot out with the government guy, the story is shallow, i played through all the missions, i have more GS in it than you so I know i've "experience" more of the world than you, i hardly missed anything, the story is just really simple, as all rockstar games are,they have horrible scripts, good voice acting, bad words.

 

You're still not reading much of what people are saying. I know you stated your opinion, but Vivi never called you not intelligent. The game ALAN WAKE is called intelligent, because it's something different and probably has a good story behind it. What I've heard from G4 is that you get right into the story right away. Plus if people are bothering you about the game and not playing it... then just walk away from this convo.

It's not the fact that you stated your opinion, it's more that you stated it in a very ignorant way. You're not making things better for yourself.

 

the story was great until John died. then getting revenge fixed it. you obviously dont see the awesomeness of the story. and just because you have more GS then me in it, doesnt mean you know the story more then me, we both beat it. it was probably the best storyline ive ever even heard of. you obviously dont know how to judge a story because gameplay counts as part of the story because it is what John Marston did. in other words:

Cutscenes are not = to the whole story.

 

but they're pivital, cutscenes have to be good enough than when you're not holding the controller your still entertained, which i was not, the gameplay itself was beyond simple, dead aim was over powered and nothing stood a chance with the snap aim aswell, even expert aiming system didnt change this. the missions were fun but that's where it ended, its certainly not a game you'd bother to play through again, unless your collection is low or you have short term memory loss.

 

Must've been fun playing tetris for the other whole of your gaming life.

 

tetris is a fun game. and no, ive played many games with great stories, like Red Faction: Geurilla, CoD: MW2 (suckish MP but amazing campaign), Halo 1-3, Gears of War, and many others.

 

None of those had great stories, what are you talking about?

 

sorry i though i read there that you though gears and halos 2&3 had good stories, but no ones that deluded.

 

omg you probably didnt play half of them. they ALL had good stories.
